I'm in computer supply sales (data centers), 100% commission and so is the wife. So for us the household income is jammin (both 6 figure salesfolks) Balancing a 60 hour work week, a year and a half old son (one in the oven), skydiving, flyfishing, SCUBA and kayaking ....aint easy! Good thread. I'm interested in other jumpers pull alt also. I have had situations where I was under canopy by 1500 and that was way to low for me. Solo 3500 groups 2500! Low pullers are just plain crazy! They also up the odds of a fatality which creates a bad light on the rest of us. I agree with the poster a few above. If you want more freefall, go higher! I was at a DZ a few years back where this dude was pulling at 1500. He was bragging. Wonder if he's still around or has become another statistic. The only limits to skydiving is the ground!

I do not fly and really shouldnt be answering. But my father, three brothers and one sister all fly. One brother is over my shoulder to give his input. How hard is it to learn how to fly?? Depends on you and what you are flying. Small airfields offer the Cessna program. About 4 grand. How hard is it to fly instruments or multi-engine planes "hard" is a personal thing. Flying instruments AND twin engine aircraft are both different in thier own ways. Like skydiving, you only do certain things after training, once you've been trained, it doesnt seem so "hard" How dangerous is it? Are they any stats on flying safety? Simular dangers with skydiving. Errors can ofcourse be fatal. Small aircraft fatalities exceed skydiving on a per/1000 stat. How competitive is the job market for pilots?? Very! My father has been fly commercial with United for 20 years. My one brother flies for the Navy and the other flies a Citation 2 for various celebrities. They all agree that it is getting more and more crowded woth "new" pilots. Especially x-military types. Hope that helps. I am one of the only ones in my family that is not interested. 2nd off landing, spotted a clearing, corked into it and found myself in the backyard of a huge mansion type estate. Grabbed my gear and started for the front. This little boy comes running out and yells "What a birthday! You got me a clown and a skydiver" Sat there for a while having cake and ice cream Last summer I came down in the corn field a ways from the dz. Bap Bap Bap, that corn stung. Headed for the fence and a truck pulls up. Fartmer McNasty and his sons. The ol man is screamin at me to get the F%#@K off the property. I look the other way and start walking. This punk hops out of the truck and starts to harrass me. I say "easy Dude, I'm outta here" Then he charges me as his other brother hops out. I think "Shit! this, I dont need" So, I turn to him and get ready to charge and close ground between us. Just as we get to each other Blam! This guys brother tackles him and proceeds to pummel him, real bad. Not sure what was up, didnt care. Picked up a light jog towards the fence/woods/road/dz! "Cant we all just get along"
