    if its done right, with appropriate gear and experience, its a lot of fun. if something goes minorly wrong, someone might have a reserve ride or an injury. if something goes majorly wrong, two people could die. its up to you to decide if the risks equal the rewards.     you need to make a water balloon, put it in the freezer until it freezes, then remove the balloon. Use that as a skyball.... its just as dangerous, but if it kills a cow or damages a house, the evidence will just melt away.     I LOOOVE tracking dives. They are the one jump that when you improve, you increase your safety on every other jump from that point on. your tracking can never be too good.... unless you track so far on normal jumps you start landing off MB 3528, RB 1182

    even IF what you are saying is true, that heavier loads cause slower openings.... then a reserve that is supposed to open in 500 ft and save your life might take 1000 ft and you go splat. MB 3528, RB 1182

    I have discovered something like that exists in almost any "extreme" sport. skydivers will complain a lot about whuffos. surfers will talk disparangingly on non-surfers. scuba divers will do the same thing too. I think its an elitist atitude that occurs to many people, not just skydivers. MB 3528, RB 1182
