HI, I just bought a saber2 from ralph, but at the time he starts yaking about how much I'd save buying a hornet, so he has them in stock. BTW the statement that hornets don't fly well above 1.1 is a lot of hooey. My buddy just picked one up and he loads it the same as I do mine which is 1.35 Hearsay of the week (saber2 is a copy of the hornet) as told to me by a nameless master rigger. blue skies jerry

4 jumps for me on a new saber2 190, In fact jumped my first pack job(beer) on this canopy. I load it at 1.35, as far as landings I stood 3 up 1 down. Landing in Oregon this time of year is like landing on a slip'n'slide. Had great openings even with what I suspect was self induced line twist on one occasion. I've yet to jump a canopy that was easier to rear riser turn, the saber2 is a blast. hope you guys enjoy yours as much as I'm enjoying mine. blue skies jerry

Newbie with a question, should you always cutaway?
b1jercat replied to andybr6's topic in Safety and Training
HI andy, jump no 13 for me pull at 5000 nothing out, couldn't find the handle couldn't see the PC. Screaming kinda head down at 3000, thinking I gotta do something, went for the silver, look up to check the canopy at 2000. I believe a PC in tow is the only mal that does/doesn't require a cutaway depending on who you talk to. I didn't recognize my mal at the time, all I knew was no open parachute. This is just one of my hair'm scare'm experiences and in no way any kind of advice, however I do my handle drills at least 5 times before I get on the plane now days. good luck blue skies jerry but I was going to tashe station to pick up some power converters -
Hi andy, I had a two to three second delay one time jumping a spring loaded main PC student rig while away from my home DZ. also had a buttload of line twists, I know I was stable and flat when I pulled, the PC lurked in my burble a little while and when I turned to look over my shoulder out it came, spanked me good. This was the first and last time I'll ever jump one of those rigs. blue skies jerry But I was going to tashe station to pick up some power converters

My 2 cents, I've made several jumps on a tri 190 loaded at 1.35 . with 42 jumps I'm no expert. the thing I like about the tri is it lands on a dime and a nice long snivle (read soft opening). At my DZ they are the rental gear. The canopy I decided to go with is a saber2 190. blue skies jerry

How slow do you get when you track?
b1jercat replied to drenaline's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Question, do you lose vertical speed in a track? no shit? blueskies -
Gee sarge would you please take my home dz off your profile? blueskies

My advice would be talk to the people who are training you. get a little closer to your a lisend. cruise thru the classifieds here to get an idea what's out there and what it cost. If you want to free fly, you need to know what gear is free fly friendly. (read container)Just any old thing won't cut it. good luck blue skies

How much fun can a Sabre 2 190 be loaded at 1:1?
b1jercat replied to Viking's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Quick note i was told you want 3-6 inches from the stops before the tail startes to deflect? However I still need to front riser the canopy to be sure, when I had my hands down to my shoulders I was well into brakes. blueskies jerry
