Ok..I have been thinking about doing this for a while ...and thats it..I can't wait any longer!!! I jump at Sebastian and have 285 jumps and would like to taste "da nylon crack" NOW!!!. So should I go to Deland for a weekend? They have more BMIs and more demo suits to choose from...I think. Are BirdMan open over the weekend cause I would like to buy a 2nd hand suit as well. Can't wait to get my wings!

I have a PC110 (PAL version) and want to play back my jumps on NTSE TV set. I am having problems playing my footage on the TV. Any remedies to this problem? G. P.S. Before you say it, I bough the PAL version at the time I was in Europe and for a great bargain!

Sorry..for the mixup. I stand corrected..Thanks. So the question now is...what will it be, night jumps at Lake Wales or Z-Hills?? Any help here...anyone!?! I have not jumped at either of the DZs before.
-
So are all jumps on the 11 & 12 Oct priced at $16 at Z-Hills?.... Sweet... I'll be there! Thanks for the info.

Hi, Does anyone know which DZ (in FL!) are doing night jumps this month? Cheers, G.

Is it good to start flying camera in a full camera suit or will a camera suit top do the job just as well? (filming RW & Tandems) I am more inclined towards the camera suit top but would like your opinion (pro & cons..) Also what would be the price difference (just an indicative level to make comparisons)? Any recommendations?

Great! I was not aware of such a publication. I will try and get my hands on a copy ASAP... Thanks once again.. P.S. These forums are just perfect..with tons of information..and for free.

Thanks for the advise Quade. Its a pity I don't jump at Perris, otherwise I would had bought you a lot of beers! Seriously, why don't you consider writing a book..I think you are the right person to do it. May be after retirement..?!? Thanks again everyone.

FFX is an excellent camera helmet. I have mine for a while now. Fits like a glove and its perfect. They have upgraded their chin-cups to quality rachette type. They also have a cut-away system, which I think is super. Steve and Allison are excellent with their customer service. I give them two thumbs up...

So what happened to the BMI Directory? Or is it still work in progress? Just woundring...

May be someone should start a camera flying school. It may not be financially feasible to begin with but who knows... Or may be a write a book..."the Bible of CameraFlying" What do you experienced cameraflyers think?
-
Hi, I have got 270 jumps and have just started jumping camera. I am interested in getting into camera flying for RW/Tandems in the near future. Now how does one approach a experienced Cameraflyer (most likely busy!!) at DZ and ask them to be their mentor? Any experienced Cameraflyers in Florida looking to pass on their knowledge? Isn't Camera flying another area of Skydiving, which is like "You are on your own now"?!? Any helpful suggestions?

Need Help Setting Up University Skydiving Club
bigG replied to bigG's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I have found someone who may be able to help me out here. Some one was trying to start a club here before but had problems with SU..so I will talk to them and see what can be done. There are quiet a few Collegiate clubs here in Florida, but no governing body like the BCPA for example, to organise events. May be in the near future we should try and organise US & UK Collegiate events or competitions... May be a Collegiate World Championships...(ok..I may be dreaming a bit too far now!!) Thanks for the help folks...I'll let you know how it goes. G. -

Need Help Setting Up University Skydiving Club
bigG replied to bigG's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hi, I am thinking of starting a Collegiate Skydiving Club here at FloridaTech in Melbourne,FL. I could use some pointers and positive advise on how to setup a club. I was told that I would have problems with insurance. Anyways to get around that?!? Thanks in advance!! G. -
Just wondering apart from TB99, who else (BMI's) flocks at Deland?? If Deland is the flocking Dz in Florida then I might just switch DZs...
-
I am base at Melbourne Florida and the closest DZ is Skydive Sebastain. Any BMI's in the vicinity...
-
Just wondering if one already exists?.... If not..would be a good idea to have one..with details like where they (BMIs) are based at, contact info, prices, etc..etc.... what do you all think?
-
I have 250 jumps and would like to take up wing-suit flying. Now I understand that I need to jump with a birdman instructor and get some coaching. What sort of coaching is it? Do you have to do a no. of jumps with the instructor and/or pass some test/exercise?!? How much do these coached jumps cost? with or without hiring the suit.. Can I jump solo or in groups after after that ?...
-
No I haven't read it yet..but I am not sure if that is what I am looking for..I mean I need something that will cover by medical bills if I happen to break my bones (or worse..) while skydiving! I don't know if accidental death & dismemberment insurance is the same?!?..... Thanks for the tip anyway.
-
Hi all, I want to get an accidental insurance for skydiving (mainly!) as my health insurance won't cover it. So I am specifically looking for an accidental insurance cover which would include skydiving and not cost a fortune. Would appreciate your opinion & suggestions (good ones only.. ) Blue Skies! Big G. P.S. and yes..I did search the forum for this info!

Quick release systems mandatory on Camera Helmets??
bigG replied to bigG's topic in Photography and Video
Just heard form someone that quick release cut away systems will be made mandatory on Camera Helmets on most US dropzones soon. It is true?? any one?? -
I have finally decided to buy either a KENKO .5 or KENKO .42 wide angle lens for my PC110. I am looking for a general all-purpose wide angle lens mainly for filming freefly fun jumps, where I don’t have to be very close to the subject being filmed. What I understand (correct me if I am wrong) from reading past posts, is that KENKO .5 is more suited. Any suggestions from people who have jumped a KENKO .5? Any Pros & Cons of this lens that I need to know? Any suggestions?

Just wondering which of the following is the better lens: A: RAYNOX Super Wide angle 0.5X B: KENKO 0.42 Wide angle Has anyone used any of these ? Anything I need to know before buying it? Will be using it mainly for filming freeflying jumps. G.
