thats cool, i know all about PAL and NTSC. I've found the company i mentioned 2 posts up does the 101e (the PAL version) for $669 which seems pretty reasonable. Also just noticed it does have an A/V input on mini jack. Next question... I wouldn't want to with a camera on my head yet, the extra weight and all the other problems is not something i need at this low level, however... as i saw a kit someone made, which involved wearing the actual camera unit in a belt pack (easy enough to make a keep out of the way) then running a simple small cable up to a mini camera (like the little spy ones) which i coule mount on my helemt. No weight invovled and with a little connector in place if i needed to ditch it incase of emergency i just yank it off and jobs a goodun. I've seen the quality of some of these micro cameras and it will actually work well. i wil have about 100 jumps by the time i look into this and am usually good and stable in the air. when you say DV in, excuse my blondeness (and i should know this having worked in broadcast my entire life, spending time dealing with all manner of formats) thats just the digital output of another camera isn't it? what i'm thinking is (i know you can buy a kit, but its pricey) plugging a smaller camera in and using it as a remote recorder for some jumps, so i dont have the camera on my helmet. I want to buy a video camera anyway, but in the future i also plan to jump with it, so it makes sense to get one thats jumpable. What are everyones recomendations? I see the PC101's fairly popular, and pros and cons? anyone know which sony models can accept a video in feed? Also, wheres a good cheap place to buy camcorders in the states? when i google, it tries to be helpful and gives me mainly UK sites.. thanking you
