So i'm travelling through the US with my rig, domestic, then interntaional flights. I print out all the directives for the TSA, the letters to the USPA, CYPRES information.. everything... Pack the rig pretty much on its own in a carry on back.. Get to the xcreening points, put the bag on the conveyor and walk through the detector... What do the damn TSA do?? NOTHING! bastards.. lol, i was all ready for an argument, but no.. nothing... first guy didn't even bat an eyelid. Second screener, on the way back to the UK, stopped the conveyor and didn't know what it was, someone told her and she just let it go... then the conveyor stopped again and another screener asked about a bag. I thought it was mine and said if its about the rig its my bag. She looked at me and said.. no... not yours. aboslutely no point in getting an audible yet. In fact, you wouldn't probably be allowed to jump with one anyway. You really need to get good altitude awareness without an audible. Chill, you haven't even started AFF yet. Speak to the instructors at your DZ, see what the course covers. You may get a log book thrown in. They should lend you everything else, goggles, helemet, suit, rig etc. agter you've done all your AFF jumps and your on consols, then think about buying gear. You may do your first jump and decide skydiving isn't for you. You dont need to buy any gear at this stage, but the books Lisa suggested are a good idea. Yup, once again my feeble fall rate screws that jump up. I'm standing, he's on his belly.. D'OH! still a good laugh.. next up, Dagny's just got her 'A', so me and Aviatar decide on a three way. They fly belly, i sit fly. We leave the door, they manage to hold grips and i just sit in the background smiling. A good fun jump

woooo.. thats the weeknd i fly back to cold old blighty as well :) if you find yourself at a lose end, come on down to headcorn, make a couple of jumps, just bring a jumper, or three... -19 at altitude the other day.. brrrrrrrrr....
