Dad wouldn't hesitate to whoop my ass. The lessons behind the ass whoopings stuck. All though my military career and civilian jobs, "the old-timers" always commented on how I must have been brought up right. Well, it worked for me anyway. To this day, pretty much, regardless of one's age - they're a "sir" or a "ma'am" to me.

A soldier or serviceman who wears awards that he hasn't been awarded yet..........badges, ribbons, decorations, etc...............all of which can be purchased either in the PX/Clothing & Sales.

Along the lines of puting oneself in for a medal, I suspect we have all run in to a "PX Soldier" or two during our tours as well..............shameful.

I respect your descision 100%. The life experience is a sumation of decisions of which, it seems, you have made your's with a viable premise. If I let my mind wonder and truly think about what can happen to me as a result of skydivng, these thoughts can get the very best of me. Realistically, as you have already thought about, anything can happen. It's those times, I balance my legitiment fears with agressive risk managment. There are no garuantees in life - in anything - all we can do is deligently manage the risks and enjoy the ride. There's much, much more to life than skydiving..................good luck with your decision.

Prayers always.......................it was always sad to see, while I was on AD, the parents and children who suffered as a result of one or both of the parents there. My heart broke when a good friend of mine (unit member) lost his infant daughter relative to like complications............I still have no words.
