  2. If you are making thread here is the specs that are typically used: E sized Thread Size 69 Nylon is a middleweight thread typically used for sewing leather, lightweight upholstery fabric, canvas, and vinyl. Stitching, with a size 16 or 18 needle, is noticeable. This size is also known as Tex 70 and Government Size E. It has an 11 lb. (5.0 kilo) tensile strength; a 0.115 in. (0.2921 mm) diameter; and gives about 6,000 yards (5,480 meters) per pound. In terms of some of the other materials like the lines and the canopy fabric we have PIA that holds all the Military level specs for those materials since a lot of the materials are used in military items and they have very specific specs. http://pia.com/ http://www.pia.com/shopcord.htm http://www.pia.com/shopcloth.htm Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

    Drowning

Jumper was doing a jump near water and due to winds two people out of the formation were blown into the water. Rescuers pulled the first jumper out and thought other boats were getting the second jumper. The second jumper drown and was found 3 days later.
  6. I have had my CISSP for years and it was the worst test I have ever taken. Vague does not begin to describe the questions and the topics are stupid. Why would I need to know about patent law, fire extinguisher codes (ABC) and that 10Base-2 is limited to 185 meters all for the same damn test? I have been doing day to day security for about 13 years and I hate the damn CISSP test. Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
  7. If you call the Orlando tunnel and mention you are looking to contact either Tom or Chris for coaching they will get you their contact information. I have used both and I would recommend either! Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
  8. Germany requires a certified harness and a reserve. You can put a chest mount reserve on connectors to certain base harnesses to meet this requirement but they still need a reserve. Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

  11. Jumper apparently had problems with a toggle (toggle fire on opening, or toggle lock)and seemingly tried to fix the problem. Canopy was seen flying straight, and suddenly spinning. Cutaway according to witnesses seemed lower than 300ft
  12. I have used a system where every 4 jumpers had their own bottle and it was with the Mountain High regulators on the bottles. The bottles were belted in to the plane and someone monitored the O2 flow for their group of 4. It allowed each jumper to keep a high flow of O2 no matter where they were in the plane and it also made sure even if there was a bad regulator preventing full O2 flow the entire plane would not be impacted and would allow for the others on the plane to notice the situation. I liked this since the pilot was on their own bottle and if they had an issue could tap into the jumpers bottle to make sure they were good. 13. Jumper made some sort of turn fairly low to the ground and the wing did not recover to a level state before hitting the ground.
  14. Jumper was filming a tandem group that was going drogueless and had a high rate of speed. The pilot of the airplane had made a habit of diving after and steering his plane under the tandems as they were in freefall. In this case since the tandem was drogu

  17. Jumper was on his first AFF skydive and experienced a spiraling main canopy after opening. The student then rode this turning canopy to several hundred feet where he then cutaway but was at a low enough altitude that the reserve was unable to open prior t

  19. I was sent a message not long about about a TI that got unstable on exit but wanted to continue to get the handcam video so he never brought the left hand in and ended up accidentally throwing the drogue while drogue side down. This then had the drogue go between his body and his students body and do a partial entanglement with the student. The tandem flew in this for a few seconds and ended up having to fire the reserve past all this at 12k feet. The TI specifically said that he was really wanting to make sure he was getting good video and never thought about bringing the left hand in to help with the situation until he was realizing he was going to need to use the reserve. 20. Sky balls are weighted balls that need to be jumped with a lot of planning and experience since a dropped ball has the potential of damaging or injuring anything near it when it hits the ground. It also takes experience to dial in the speed of the ball to keep it from going too fast or slow for someone to fall with it. As for the shirt you will need to think about things like how to keep it from inflating like a parachute in freefall, how you can hold it and things like that. Banners have a tendency to rip unless they are heavily reenforced. What you might want to think about is wearing the shirt and having the camera flyer backfly under and shoot photos that way. It's a lot less to deal with and it can be done super easily. Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
  21. Do you have hard metal links or soft links connecting your lines to the risers? If you have the soft ones talk to any rigger since they might have some s link hats laying around since swoopers don't want the hats on their rigs. If you have the metal links then you can get the silicone covers via most gear stores. Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
