    On my AFP 2 I had massive line twists. When I looked up and saw them I said to myself "oh shit", and then I remembered that they were only a nuisance and I just had to kick out of them. Once I got that straightend out, I did a steerability check and then looked for the dropzone. I couldn't find it anywhwere and proceeded to find someplace else to land. During this time, I kept telling myself that I would never do this again. At around 3000 feet, my instructor came in over the radio and told me to turn left and head for the DZ.     I'm definitely a fellow bonehead. I had a bad landing on my AFP 3. The reason I'm such a bonehead is that I had a great flare, but when the JM came over the radio and told me I could stand it up, for some reason I stuck my left leg out. (I think I thought I was going to run it out). I broke my knee in two places and tore the ACL. That was 6 weeks ago and I'm still not walking on the leg. I won't be back in the air until next year. It sounds like you will heal fast and be back before you know it.     I don't have gear yet, but was wondering if anyone knows what the student rigs weigh. They feel like they are about 45 lbs.     ***wow....12 tandems!! Be sure to ask your AFF instructor if you can start a couple levels into AFF (or categories nowadays) since you have done so many tandems...they should at least let you start at level 2 or 3 since you are fairly adapted to freefall. Quote I did 5 tandems and still spun out on the AFP level 3 release dive. Congratulations and good luck with the AFF.
