  1. Hi, Does anyone know where I can hold of a manual for the Woomera (MFD 1999)? The link to the manufacturer does not seem to work. Anyone know of any alternativ contact info? Thanks, Daniel
  2. What I hate? Customers begging on there knees and saying: Please-please can you have my rigg finished for this weekend, I really-really need it! Since your a nice guy that want to help you customer out: You are up all night loosing sleep, sewing and packing to get it finished in time. What happens? They come by about a month later to collect there stuff, with no guilt at all they just say "Thanks" and leave...
  3. Had a similar weird experience happen to a friend. He lost his left shoe while doing a downplane. He threw his other shoe in the thrash-bin because it was old and he didnt need it any more. He came back after two weeks of traveling and found both his shoes neatly parked ouside of manifest Weird
  4. Was it a pretty hard opening and was the extra drag noticeable under canopy? -------------------------------------------------- The snatch force was really "snappy" but the rest of the opening is pretty normal. The canopy felt a bit different when turning, more sluggish. /Danne
  5. Yes, it has happend to me. Old V2 drogue that probably was out of shape.
  6. Take her to Sweden. As long as the parents aprove, sign off and she fits in the harness (>140cm) theres no problem. /D
  7. Is the firebolt commenly used? I have merely heard about it. Maybe I should have included it? Do you have a opinion about this canopy?
  8. True, but I still believe that some designs are better/worse than others when all else is equal, like packing and maintenance. /D
  9. I dont have any statistics, but it seems that our BT-80´s at our DZ, malfunction more often then our Sigmas. We have also had a few really hard openings with the BT that sustained injuries on both TM and passenger. /D
  10. What are your opinions? For this poll I chose the canopys I thought were mostly used today. Please vote for both most and least mal-prone canopy. Please also tell us why you think so and if you have statistics of some kind or just "a gut feeling". /Daniel

  12. Quote: Deep brakes can help, but this is more of an emergency manuever than a recommended normal procedure. Releasing brakes during an opening can lead to some very nasty problems/mals; I'd only do it under very specific conditions (like you're sniveling through 500 feet.) *************************************** About Spectres and brake setting: Usually Spectres actually open faster with a more shallow brake setting, and slower with a deep. Keep in mind that this is canopy dependent and that there is usually no reason to alter the manufacturers settings. /D

Check out these guys in sweden: http://w1.312.telia.com/~u31225879/ Look at the videos. They have built a remote controlled skydiver that now has a few base-jumps under his belt :) They can control both front-riser and toggle input, which means he can both turn, flare and do hook-turns. They named him Frank (after Frankenstein I think) and he jumps a Sabre 5 sq/ft replica, made from measuring up an old Sabre 150 :) Pretty cool!
  14. As a rigger I would recomend a RWS Vector 3 or Micron with the skyhook. But, you would probably not go wrong with any of the major manufacturers latest models. /D
  15. Did you replace the lines? I am wondering this since there are usualy not a lot of inches left to lengthen the lines above the brake loop. Or did you just lengthen below the brake loop? Then the brake setting will be the same and you have won nothing, execpt having to flare deeper upon landing.
  16. Learn to pack! If you learn to pack you can save yourself a lot of money. If you learn to pack really good, maybe you can pack for others and make money for jumptickets while you are at the dropzone. I am in the same situation as you are. School, childsupport and skydiving dont really go well together. So, I got a riggers ticket and started doing tandems. Now it works out OK... Good luck!
  17. >>Hehe....A Teardrop 1-Pin Pop-Top is probably the easiest rig on the market to close... *** Please telll my your tricks, I must be doing somthing really wrong on those.
  18. Bill, How about retrofiting Vector tandems with the skyhook? /D
  19. I have made about 900 jumps and about 15 demos on Spectres. Great landings, great openings, no cut-aways, no spinning upp and no blowing upp... I love them! I did have two slammers, and I will never ever jump a colapsed slider again
  20. Hi, Just changing the lineset on a Stiletto 150 and have gotten a bit confused. Should the A1 and C1 be on the outside or is it the A2 and C2? I have mailed PD the same question but I suppose I will get a quicker answer here... Thanx, /Dan
