  1. Every one hits a wall as a student. mental preperation and lots of ground practise for muscle memory saves time and money. never dwell on mistakes or you tend to repeat them. fix it in your mind and move on. easier said than done but it works. I fell out of the dam plane on my first jump. IAD not AFF.
  2. Take the NSL camp. you wont be disappointed and its cheaper. I took the tunnel camp last year and it was awesome. the 2 hour camp is great but you better be in good shape. You will get the same quality of coaching in the tunnel as airspeed camp.
  3. -15'C on the ground no door on the plane. 2 jumps before the blizzard hit. there is something to be said for an early beer light. winter is no reason to stop jumping. once your balls freeze they dont get any smaller.
  4. nothing sends a message like popping the reserve handle! assuming they have their own gear.
  5. if your not playing with your risers consistently yet, stay with a 150. you wont be doing yourself a favor by downsizing to get speed. honestly you will have more fun because your just starting to get the feel for the 150. go smaller and it will take at least a season to get to the same point you are at now with the 150. better to look cool and in control ,than scary out of control. i went from a 150 to a 135 to fast and bounced a couple of times. i speak from experience. i stayed on the 135 for 700 jumps and could out swoop guys on crossed braced canopies that shouldnt have been. thats my $0.02!
  6. i know so many people that are on small eliptical stuff that they have no bussiness being on. i have given up trying to talk sense to them. now i do my best to educate and train them properly so they dont kill themselves. there is no short cut to performance landings. Hopeless velocity junkie.
  7. this concerned me aswell when i first got my velocity, before i jumped it. however this is the first canopy i have owned that there is no need to lengthen the brake settings. i have tried short and long risers its all good. Hopeless, velocity junkie.
  8. in 4way altimeter BAD! , dytter GOOD! if your team catches you lookin .
  9. I have the same problem. i have to use both hands to pull the slider down the risers aswell. i got new risers when i got the main and after over 300 jumps it isnt much better. im use to it now, but if anyone uses risers that work better i would like to know who you got them from.
  10. I like to start at 800 ft with a very small amount of front riser and transfer to harness right away. always ready to speed up or slow the turn with risers. i find if i whip it at the end i have to come out of the dive sooner. with the harness i can get a lot closer to the ground before coming out of the dive.
  11. make sure you toss out you pc with some extra effort. it can easily get caught in your burble. also, toss to soon out the door and line twists can occur. due to the prop blast.
  12. I hate stainless steal. i have had too containers and on both the leg straps never stay tight. i have to use two elastics on each side to keep the dam things from loosening. I had another friend send his javelin back due to the same problem. it came back still having that problem. I have a vector so it's not just the manufacturer.
  13. is there an ideal riser length for swooping. specifically crossbraced. I need a new set. is longer is better ? i am curious what the pros are using.
