Ummm..that's practically the definition of racist. It's not something new. I know a whole hell of a lot of fat ass black guys that couldn't run a block. Hmmm, in fact I saw 16 of them in the past week. That must mean ALL black people are fat. When you categorize people based on a specific trait that happens to be dominant for their race, you're usually excluding (and insulting) a good portion of the members of that race that don't have that trait. Do you like it when someone lies about you? That's what it is like if you say something about a subset of a race and claim it applies to all of them. I think to some degree both of you, rebirth and hitler (artist something or other, I can't recall your screen name), are right... AND wrong.... first of all, not all blacks are african american. there are other parts of the world where people who have dark brown/black skin are from. many of them are offended when they are called "african americans." And what about whites from Africa? Do you call THEM African Americans? They most certainly exist! I know several who are American citizens! i can understand why some people object to being called "black" by "whites" but most "blacks" I know call each other "black" and some even call each other affectionately by the n-word. Why must "white people" call "black people" african american in order to not offend? While words can sometimes have symbolic meaning behind them (white, pure; black dirty), they are also just descriptors as well. also, artist-whoseewhatsit is somewhat correct in that SOME "african americans," esp. some who are REALLY from parts of Africa, have what appears to be a genetic propensity for incredibly fast running. A racist statement??? HARDLY!!! Esp. if there really is a genetic component. Why isn't the race card played by whites that basketball is populated by more blacks? I ran the Honolulu Marathon in 2002... Know the color of the skin of the top finishers? Hmmmm.... you're probably not guessing white... and you're probably not guessing they were from a continent other than Africa. What the f*ck does that have to do w/ being racist? Why isn't this looked at as an asset, as the gift it is??? Ya know, some races have a physiological condition that prohibits them from getting drunk... the race is from the orient. Would it be racist to comment on someone from that race's ability to drink a beer-gutted redneck under the table? Hell no. And it would be funny as hell to see a 70 pound oriental girl whip a redneck's 250 lbs ass that way too! Bet that would surprise Bubba big time. Also, related to the fat ass black comment... some segments of the black population have a genetic predisposition to hypertention, hyperlipidemia, obesity, diabetes, etc... A racist comment or fact? There are countless examples of how other races are different... and these differences can be considered assets, liabilities, etc... but simply commenting on them AS FACT or AS A GOOD, how does that = racism? Calling all blacks "fast runnin' niggers" = racist Calling all blacks "lazy fat ass welfare chasers" = racist Saying blacks from some parts of Africa (or wherever) are incredible runners =NOT= racist Saying many blacks WILL become obese / get sickel cell anemia = not racist Are we too sensitive?
