  1. i start in full flight... i dont know what experiance level your looking for... im far from the best. but ive got a little experiance.. the reason i start in fill flight is because ive seen somone set up in deep brakes "with a crossbraced" vx to be spacific.... the set up for a downwind 270 in deep brakes and then when they pulled on the front riser the side of the canopy.... 2-3 cells... folded under..... so i set up in full flight with my harnnes..... most of the pro's that ive seen seem to set up in full flight also..... but im sure there is some that do it in brakes... i think chuck "skymonkeyone" sets up in brakes.... but depending on where i am i may get in the brakes a little.... but prefer full flight
  2. i had a lineover on a vx 87 and it didnt spinn me as bad as a line twist in a stilletto 107.... sorry if off topic..... but i have never really noticed a difference in the opening on the vx if i rolled the nose or if i left the nose exposed... so ileave the nose exposed..
  3. fed ex plane blew up in memphis today... was it coming on fed ex?
  4. ohhh god... you will be sorry if you use any cheap temp fix.... trust me.... just fix it right
  5. it overheated then... the reason the temp guage didnt read it is because the sensor has to be submerged in fluid to read... if there is no fluid it doesnt read correctly... it probably overheated due to low coolant... now you need to have them find the reason why there was low coolant in wich caused it to overheat and caused the head gasket to blow..... the reason the gasket blew is because the metal got so hot it warped... alot of times this will cause the metel to break or crack.. this is the catostrophic failue i was talking about..... hopefully it is a very therough tech and he will look carefully at the engine block... it is metal to.. and they warp or crack also...... usually overheats can cause alot of problems... so dont be pissed if they tell you there is further problems.....
  6. there is nothing wrong with dex cool anti freeze exept for the fact that it is pink..... but use what the factory recomends... it is recomended for a reason.. p.s. 600 soounds about right!
  7. it is alot better off that it didnt over heat... steel warpes fairly easy.. so it may be ok.... if it is aluminum heads then im willing to bet there is more problems.... since it is a v6 the head is fairly short wich usually reduces the amount it warpes..... but how did it start leaking usually there is an over heat then you have to replace the head gasket.... is it smoking white smoke out the tail.. or is the head just leaking oil?
  8. im willing to bet they will find further problems when they tear it down.... but i could be wrong.... and if you ask them... they are going to tell you that they will not know untill they tear it down... wich in reallity is the truth... did it over heat? is it a straight 6 v6 or 4 cyl. i dont know much about those cars... also do you know if the head is alluminum? or steel?
  9. dont worry about it... never had a problem.. although have heard som say that the camera will shut off for a small amount of time... soposedly there is a moisture sensor in them that will shut them down... keep the camera from outside of the plane on the climb to alt.. keep it out of the wind... keep it warm.. this will reduce the tendancy for water vapor or moisture condensation to buildup in the camera as you get to lower alt in freefall... most of this condensation has really only happened to me on hot humid summer days when it is cooll at alt..
  10. first off i would ask.. why do you have to do a head job on a 1999 car?... whats the mileage?... engines should not really have to be torn into now aday unless somthing catostrophic happens.. and in that case it is usually a chain of things wrong with it... 4 cyl or v6?

  16. find the curcuit breaker that both those lights are on and turn off that curcuit... then call an electrician in the morning.... the fire dept is going to take an axe to your wall...
  17. i loved them for a long time... then i started landing with rears... so i do not use them anymore..... it makes the transfer from rears to brakes very odd....
