Which DZ`s in your state accept Skyride?
CSpenceFLY replied to Thanatos340's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
It would not surprise me to see Skyride pop up as a group member. I'll save any other comments for after the release of the mentioned information. -
So, where is the list of great ones?

I'm not sure there is a simple answer to what you are asking about. Well maybe there is and it's just too simple for most to find. Find something that you like to do and do it. I think too many people start out adult life doing what other expect of them. If you find something you like you can more then likely become good at it. Don't expect your interests to stay the same the rest of your life, don't be afraid to change with them. Now the other side of the fence would say get a good stable job, put in your 25-30 years, retire and then do what you want. Both sides of the fence have their pros and cons. It's up to you to decide which side works for you. When I was 23 and had had enough of the town I grew up in I moved to Macon to finish my pilot ratings. I lived aviation for 10 yrs and had a job flying. During that time I also helped take care of some properties for the guy I flew for and discovered I liked working outside and really disliked the lifestyle of a corporate pilot. About 9 yrs ago I started a lawn service business and about the same time made my first jump( I had been wanting to do that for a long time). I grew the business(I should have sold it) till it was a pain in the ass and spent the last few years shrinking it back down and now I work by myself again. I hated have employees and all of the headaches that came with it. During that time I jumped every weekend, started doing tandem video at the DZ, wracked up a bunch of jumps, did video for some 4- way teams, went to nationals, built a kick ass boogie and had it all go to hell this year, jumped off a bridge. During all of this I discovered I liked camping/ RVing, Geocaching, hiking(when it's cool outside), organizing events and meeting people. I guess my point,if I have one, is this. I am 40 yrs old now and I'm looking for the next fork in the road. Life is what happens when you're making all of the grand plans. Don't miss it because you're stuck staring at the details.

While this is tragic and there is a lesson to be learned here, there is no indication he would have survived even if he landed right in front of everyone. I can name many dropzones and boogies that this could happen at so I would suggest everyone to stay off of the high horse. This post not aimed at LuvToFly -
Sorry but this would be a great post without the attitude.

Does anyone else see the irony on someone saying in a post on DZ.com that they are working their ass off. -

Isn't this one of the issues brought up a while back that was ignored? I'm sure it is cause I remember typing that I was sure Brie would let us all know when this was accomplished. -
How the hell do you find out that you're into that??
-
That was sick! you need a spanking.

I'm not on a mission at all. If I get a chance to speak out against it I do. End of story. I think it would be just as wrong for me to let someone get fucked by them as it would be to be doing the fucking. And I would rather be a little fat than be an asshole. I can always diet. -

Lets look at this another way for a minute just for fun. You have probably heard the expression "What's legal isn't always smart and what's smart isn't always legal". I think you can exchange the words smart and ethical. Now I'm not a very religious person but lets just pretend for a minute that tomorrow you are going to be judged by your almighty. ( God,Budda, insert your choice here) To make things worst, YOU are going to be judged right next to Ben and Cary and there will be no consideration that you didn't start Skyride or you only work there. You are going to be judged on the same level as Ben and Cary. Are you nervous? I bet you are. I'm thinking that We would get some get out of hell points for doing what we can to stop Skyride from scamming anymore people and it would be impossible to drive a 6 penny nail up your ass with a sledge hammer even with some KY. Ryan, you know the company is bad otherwise you would not have to defend yourself like this on a regular basis. The few things that may have changed, in order to avoid some of the heat coming down IMO, is completely over shadowed by all of the really shitty things that have been done and are still going on. You can continue coming here to defend yourself if you like but you are not changing anyones mind. It's great if you can give out a few refunds and make yourself feel better about your job but you are certainly not changing anything around Skyride. -

The lowest I've done is 1600 on a Spectre. I would say between 2 and 3 K for comfortable.
