  1. I would hope that darkness would hide your mistake from your S&TA lol. Land and be like 'Low pull? Nah I pitched at like 6k'
  2. Forgot to uncollapse my slider while packing, and took that packjob on a tracking jump at Lost Prairie. Somehow, someway, had a perfectly butter smooth opening... How about you guys?
  3. All great questions! Epicenes pack down super small, my 210 packs like a 170 so I think it'll fit in your container just fine. Not unwise to downsize to a wingsuit specific canopy, but the question you really should be asking yourself is will you be comfortable with 5 line twists on a 150 vs a 170. Its gonna happen, and I like more fabric just for this reason.. Lastly, Epicene lifespan.... I have 350ish jumps on mine (original Epicene, not the Pro) and its still going strong. Lines are definitely a little outta trim now but other than that it seems gravy. I flew an Epicene from jump 50-400ish, then I tried out the Atair Winx and havent gone back since. It flies more performant than an Epicene, has way better flare, and more consistent openings. Ever since I got it I havent even touched the Epicene, which I use for flying my Freak3, Mutation, and for any type of slick jumping. Lastly, to be fair, if you put some sauce on the fronts everytime you land, the Epicene flare isnt THAT bad. Without that though better have them PLFs on lock
  4. Cant you just become your own rigger by buying a pencil? ...queue Dropzone.com Karens coming in to save the day
  5. Well if Jarno says no then there's no way in hell I'd fly it. That man has more talent/experience in one wing than I have in my whole body
  6. Sky: If you are an expert tracker (both slick & two-piece) then you can fly any onesie. BASE: You should have multiple BASE seasons in a two piece before you consider even the smallest onesie
  7. There's no such thing as a beginner onesie. Only big onesies, and bigger ones. Check out David Laffarques take on this exact problem. Highly relevant to you if youre looking to jump off the Earth with your onesie
  8. No experience with the Pala or Mono, love my Mutation though. Have you considered Intrudair also? Have a few friends with the HalfA and they freaking love it.
  9. Fuck yea Jarno! Finally a thread on Dropzone.com actually worth reading
  10. Certainly eating a whole pizza for breakfast has nothing to do with it
  11. A Curv rig still doesnt mean free flying will ever be cool...
  12. If my brand new Vertical suit hasn't already broken both my femurs, surely this will do the trick
  13. Do you even jump, bro? You seem like more of a golfer. Leading to my next question as to whether the US Golf Association has cloud regs? -Tootles Jerr bear
  14. I say we overthrow the USPA just to get rid of those dumb fucking cloud regs #mattBlankForPres
  15. Sounds like youre still tense in freefall. Don't give up tho! One of these times those hips will relax then it'll be all gravy
  16. Great question broski! Changing your angle of attack has less to do with your toes and more to do with your posture. In a wingsuit, your body should (almost) always be completely flat (especially those arms). This maximizes wing efficiency, and allows you to keep that wallet full of airspeed. If you're going head low, you're flying in a dihedral orientation. If you don't know what the fuq dihedral means, then check out Richard Webb's take on it (which every WS pilot should read anywho): http://topgunbase.ws/speed-2-stability-vs-drag/ You can adjust your AoA with nothing more than your head and shoulders. Imagine if the Hunchback of Notre Dame was trying to fix his posture, and stand up as tall as he could. Well.. this is effectively similar to best body position in a wingsuit. Stretch that body as long as you can, with 0 degrees dihedral, and adjust your AoA by adding a bit more hunchback to the mix. Clear as mud?
  17. 32'' ZP Icarus pilot chute for me. It's worked well with a relatively large surface area suit (Freak3). That suit flares so damn well though that I think going up to a 34 or 36 may be in order soon.
  18. Thankfully we're all marsupials and and have a skin pouch
  19. @GoneCodFishing hit it on the head. Also remember to always fly with 0 dihedral sweep no matter your angle of pitch. If you're pushing your arms down to flare, then you're not really flaring. The only thing that should change is your head position && posture. When you're diving you're like the hunchback of Notre Dame, when you're flaring think about having great posture and getting as long possible, while slightly lifting your head.
  20. Its like all the great parts of wingsuiting without all the shittiness! I really wanna start a 4way RW team, but in Mutations
  21. I don't need an E License to femur in. My D works just fine for that.
  22. I've heard such mixed things about this. I believe that it's best for trackers to go second to last before wingsuiters. With that said I got yelled at by a salty ass organizer named Chazi at Lost Prairie this past year for even asking about this, so who knows. Apparently everyone at Eloy knows best
  23. If you are deploying your suit in full flight asymmetrically, you're going to have spicy openings like this. I have alot more luck by bending my knees ( almost to 90 degrees) at the top of the flare. This will put you head high, and your burble wont be nearly as large. Oh and get a Winx. I will never buy anything else.
  24. Don’t listen to Jerry McGee here. The Havok is a great suit, and the only people that bash them are ones that have no experience flying them. if you can’t keep up with a swift, you probably just don’t know how to fly a wingsuit. The Havok is a great suit, but 500 is steep for that old of technology.
