  1. I would also try from a balloon. And I know of someone who got unstable and opened after 8 seconds. I don't know if anything happend with the gear, but the jumper broke his nose with his knees.. Perhaps you can take someone with you to hold your pilot or be patient for your first BASE sliderdown jump. But with a reserve you can give it a try and just open after 3 sec no matter what your bodyposition is, could be good vid Ferry

In my opinion it's even better then spring and summer. Now all the grass is short and it's not to hot for hiking. You need some luck with the wetter, but you'll also need it in summer. I've been there with cristmas, perfect conditions. Not too busy also.. Ferry
  4. Very nice! I like the part where the person reversed under canopy docks the yellow one. While climbing down you can look in the nose and see the xbraces, only short. Only thing I was wondering, how did the persoon reversed under canopy get that linetwist before he's chopping it? Ferry

    Accident in China

"WS are great fun but you can quickly find yourself very low with your arms trapped trying to make a sudden landing. God help you if you get line twists." He wrote this in another thread on the ABA forum only one week before his accident.. rip Ferry

These balls they use for golf are a good size I think, and they have some weight. You might have a chance that all the rubberbands around it make it bounce too much against the object. Then a little sandbag can be usefull and also easy to create. Ferry

What about a little ball with a lot of rubber band pulled around it? Also easy to attach to the rope, just put the end of the rope under the last rubber band. It's just 5 meter... Good luck! Ferry
  8. ..not sure, but I think that's without the jacket.. Ferry
  9. Bigger canopies with extra weight for better distances.. But how about speed? Take even more weight? Since I have no experience with using weight, how much weight would people take with them and where? Looks to me you can hold more weight in a vest instead of a belt, but what about the risk of deeper water? Ferry

    Best Canopy

I think if you're used to snivels and like them, you can use a canopy with a snivel. Just think about your body position, because the longer the snivel the more time to mess up. And don't forget to keep your legwing closed all the way, that how I got some linetwists. They also catch wind on the backside

    base jump video

I made few jumps from that spot with a Classic II, but after I heard people reach same distance without a wingsuit, making even longer delay I quitted talking about it... It's still a good feeling, I know
  12. On this one I also agree with Faber And to proof this: I Completed BASE two years ago and don't have a number... Ferry
  13. Yes, the weather up here was bad last month. But not too bad for BASE, still made 10 jumps last month and could have been much more... Even made pictures Ferry
  14. Yes, that's the way we use to do it. Works pretty good I heard the belgiums even have a name for that; sigi (Streamer) For us in Holland, the land with the A's it's just counting sections or stairsteps. That gives a good indication.. Ferry

    Delta vs. Track

The best track position is de-arched, to get lift. I think you saw the delta position just after exit, because it's a very stable position and a nice position to go into a track position after 3 seconds. Ferry

    "unpacked" jumps

I would like to know from people who have experience with McConkey's and TARD if they always use the tailgate? Other thing is why would someone go slider-up doing a mcConkey, while normally start going slider-up on 3 sec delay or more?!! Only thing I can think of is keeping the lines together... Cya! Ferry
  17. We bought second hand rigs when we started, both with Raven3. Mine was new, less than 10 jumps. But the other already had 500 skydives and some basejumps on it. After making another 100 jumps, the openings started getting weird. Now we all have base canopies, much better!!! Ferry Ferry
  18. I did 194 in 2002, but started in March. Living in Europe isn't so bad. We can drive to all well known E's. And in holland we also got some stuff!! CU Ferry Ferry

    McConkey ??

Hey Tom, Does a mcConkey take less altitude till opening than pca? And what about the headings, we did several pca jumps and mostly straigt heading. I would think when your shoulders are on level, a straigt heading for sure. Ferry Ferry
