Hey - what's this I hear about you carrying around little black purses filled with electronic attachments? I don't know, but me thinks Schemil might have something to tell us! It's cool dude - the great thing about skydivers is we don't judge based on life choices...only flying skills!! [edited to add that I think I now understand why Shimmmill drops by ASC from time to time!] Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic

That's FREAKIN' hysterical...(not that there's anything wrong with that!!) I don't want to EVER hear any $hit from them when they're called that GAY Atlanta dropzone!! They ARE!! (...not that there's anything wrong with that) p.s. I wonder if SunMan really knows his a$$ is now running through the minds of 100's of gay men while they're 'gettin' busy' on a Friday night!!! This will come as a surprise to most people, but yeah - I play! Been doing it off an on for about 9 years...but haven't picked them up in over 4. Just upgraded my chanter so I'm now more motivated to start playing...I love it so! I do agree with whoever mentioned it here first - get a practice chanter first. If I had to do it all over again - and if you're serious about playing - get the best chanter you can afford. I just got the McCallum practice chanter (long/plastic) and it's awesome compared to my first one. You can pay for the really expensive African Blackwood ones, but I don't feel they're any better than a long plastic one. What I feel is important is to get one that is the SAME SIZE as a real chanter...so your fingering gets trained quicker. Get a bag only when you're proficient with your timing/melodies/and breathing (not critical to be a circular breather - but if you can learn it - you're better off) From experience...the bag is HARD if you jump to it too early. I was shamed when I moved back from NZ and tried to walk into a pipe band in the US thinking I had something...I didn't! Anyway - it's a beautiful instrument...just check out any of Gordon Duncan's solo albums (he's the Olav of the bagpipe world....I personally think he's part bionic!! nobody should play that fast THAT GOOD!) Also - if you want some good music with pipes incorporated into them...Check out some of the earlier albums by the The Battlefield Band. Ian McDonald, aside from being a great guy in person, is SO talented!! Not many people can JAM Dave Matthews-esque style with the pipes! Oh - and yes, UNAmazing DISGrace is nice when played well - but once you've learned the fingering...you'll realize it's like screaming FREE BIRD when someone breaks out a guitar....it's THAT common!!! (sorry for all who are fans on here....it's just not that great of a song when you're asked to play it EVERY time you bust out the pipes!) If you have any questions....PM me...be glad to put you onto some sources...get you some good instruction books, etc. And if you master the Tualluths...you're a better man than I!!! Where's the option for the "the Prince that will never be King"!!! I'm so glad they're going to skip a generation and go with William...He'll make a FAR BETTER KING than his Dad... and knowing his son got chosen over him should make it all the more humerous!! (heard somewhere that due to the divorce, and all the Diana incidents - Charles was going to be officially passed over - hope that's true, but feel free to confirm) Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. I know a little Maori... ...he served me a once!! No seriously - I only know the odd word here or there...I wished like hell once I graduated that I had actually taken it as a language, but oh well. There are a few Maori translators on the web...look them up in Google...and then you might have to go word for word....the long way, but probably your fastest at this stage. Harere Ra! (You're Person C) Having Person A ring you wondering why they received a dropzone.com PM from Person B on Monday. Person B denies ever sending anything to Person A ever. Through some personal investigative work, and a bit of tenacity, we tracked the PM 'delivery code' back to the Tuesday PRIOR to when the message was received. So - this begs the question.... How does someone receive a message on a Monday talking about the Saturday just past - that was actually delivery coded from the PREVIOUS TUESDAY!!!! Furthermore - how can it be sent to Person A from Person B's account - without Person B ever sending it?? True story...no $hit...I was there!! Moderators & HH - I'll leave that one up for you to figure out!! I'm only left with: "Strange things are afoot at the Circle K!" Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr.
