  1. 'Sokay, feel free to killfile me. Unfortunately, some posters can't be killfiled and must be actively ignored (it's a feature, not a bug). My point is that anyone who thinks highly of Biden is either ignorant of his track record or would support him regardless of what I say, so it isn't worth my time. I also think impeachment is a complete waste of time. Keeping Biden in office makes 'President Harris' that much more unlikely, though both sides have rather a few second raters in the wings.
  2. Again, paying attention would help. I'm pretty sure my initial point was that impeachment is largely a waste of time. I do not think either of these clowns are interchangeable. If that's what you got out of what I said, your reading comprehension is weak. I do think they both suck out loud, for very different reasons, and question the sanity of anyone who supports either outright. Anyone unaware of the long standing failings of either of them is a lost cause.
  3. Actually it's more along the lines of not wasting the time to detail any of Trump's failings. If you think either of those guys are admirable, I doubt if evidence to the contrary would elicit anything beyond vitriol.
  4. If you have to ask, you haven't been paying attention.
  5. Impeachment is pretty much a waste of time, whenever it is attempted. Our last President pointed out that he could kill someone in broad daylight on Fifth Avenue and get away with it - turns out he was close to correct. Is Biden corrupt? Uh, yeah. Is there any way trying to impeach him will have the effect that his detractors seek? Not a chance. Like the previous occupant of the Oval Office, there are no surprises regarding quite who and what Biden is. Anyone who has followed either of them for the last few decades has no illusions regarding their failings. The real problem is the endless wellspring of mediocrity from which either side of the aisle draws their 'talent.' My amazement is that you have much of anyone who is for much of any of them, or thinks that, just because someone they oppose there is someone they despise on the other side, there isn't someone every bit as despicable on their side of the aisle. Having said that, Santos rather raises the bar.
  6. I hope he's sent to bed without supper and put to sleep.
  7. As a consultant to Philip Morris during the class action suit, I suggested that they countersue. Smokers often don't make it to retirement, but fall ill and croak in a year or so. 'Healthy' people suck up a lot of retirement benefits without being productive, and the last 10 years of their lives are enormously expensive, geriatric care being what it is. The cost benefits of killing them off young are enormous. They didn't think it was funny. I wasn't kidding.
  8. I'm pretty sure that one's been copyrighted, but with tweaked rebranding it can work.
  9. Trump is incapable of lying. In order to lie, one must have some concept of truth and falsehood, and I have seen nothing to indicate that Trump can conceive of such abstractions. He blurts out whatever crosses his mind, with no concern one way or another regarding its veracity. You give him way too much credit.
  10. How about a massive decrease in population? At a population of 20 billion, we're screwed regardless. A stable population of ~1 billion has options.
  11. Kinda depends on who you ask. Some places you get a medal and others you face execution for the same thing.
  12. He can only pardon Federal convictions. Parking tickets not so much.
  13. Mind you that his attire changed abruptly when it was implied that he was gay. When he was offered a discharge for homosexuality, he put on a uniform and finished his tour.
  14. The killfile feature no longer works properly. It says "you've chosen to ignore...," and then includes the dreck that I must skip over manually.

    Cats

I'm allergic to cats, so I'm somewhat biased. I suppose feral cats are an improvement over rats and the like, but they're more likely to wipe out songbirds. I've heard the comment that any veterinary condition that costs more than $1,000 to address is fatal. Having an epileptic, diabetic dog at home, I wouldn't repeat that sentiment in my kid's presence. Wild dogs, feral cats and pigs are invasive species, and I've lived places where game regulations allowed them to be shot on sight with no season or limit. All of them are considered edible by one culture or another, and there is a nonzero chance that I've been served them in my travels - though only wild boar knowingly. I never watched the show, but I seem to recall mention that ALF liked to eat cats. To each their own. .
  16. I dunno, I’d say he’s at least as qualified as The Donald for the Oval Office. Then again, so’s my dog.

If they negotiate peace now they lose the entire country. What's your point?

    Funny stuff

Living in Cook County, IL, NYC and Philadelphia, one becomes inured to a certain level of hijinks around the polling booth. It's pretty much only when the freestyle approach gets egregious that it's newsworthy. As far as Trump winning in 2020, it is a matter of numbers. Given that, if you turn over a rock whatever crawls out from underneath will vote Democrat, it stands to reason that more votes went to his opponent. Also, since he is one of the most repellent individuals in the history of U.S. politics, a fair number of people would vote for pretty much anyone to get him out of office, and others just stayed home. Do Democrats suck out loud? Of course, it's their job. Does Trump suck worse than anyone but Hillary? That's what has kept him in business (so far). We are given to the illusion that, when removing a bad person from contention, -Saddam Hussein, Mummar Khaddaffi, Evner Hoxha and Josef Broz Tito come to mind - they will be replaced by well adjusted and sage leaders. Perhaps that has worked, but I can't think of an instance offhand. Both Trump and Biden are prime examples of the principle that 'the scum rises to the top.' BSBD, Winsor
  19. If you swear fealty to the Magic Jewish Zombie all is forgiven.
  20. "That's DOCTOR Evil! I didn't spend eight years in Evil University to be MISTER Evil!" In a sense, choice of pronouns is what's in the script - but there's a line. As a matter of courtesy, I'll go along with what someone wants to a point. Divine went by she/her, Harris Milstead went by he/him. Whatever. My problem with Rachel/Richard Levine is its defense of sex reassignment for children. That's FUBAR, and there's not a chance that I'll 'respect' that position. If it is limited to him/her, I'll generally go along with it. If someone wants something else, perhaps 'that royal asshole over there' will suffice. Or, even better, I'll happily make no reference to them at all. BSBD, Winsor
  21. To conflate someone who was born with both sets of apparatus with someone who decides to change teams is disingenuous. Dylan Mulvaney might be a lot of things, but "woman" is not on the short list. There have been people living as the other sex throughout history - females with fake beards to be a Pharaoh, actors in ancient Greece who played only roles of the opposite sex and so forth. People getting surgery to present as other species, taking 'furry' to another level. is apparently a thing. An acquaintance has made a fortune 'transitioning' people who seek to customize their sexuality surgically. I understand the issues stemming from someone with a entirely legitimate congenital anomaly. If I'm expected to 'respect' people's severe mental issues, I can't help you. BSBD, Winsor
