Noting that Pee Wee Herman was better qualified to wield executive power than GWB does not suggest that Paul Rubens' alter ego was at all suited to the role. GWB was/is an idiot. Agreed. Obama is a poser. He's neither negro or caucasian - he's a half-kaf' - so he tailors his persona to his audience. With a good six months preparation, he would be ready for a Freshman course in many of the technical subjects on which he presumes to hold forth. If he reads something intelligible from the teleprompter, bully for him. I have no reason to conclude that he has done his homework enough to differentiate between the valid and the fanciful, and he seems to put forth either with equal gravity. At any rate, while GWB is breathtakingly incompetent, BHO is giving him a run for his money. BSBD, Winsor How do you feel about having roll down windows on airliners? That's not allowed. The Flight Attendant made it quite clear that you must go out on the wing if you wish to smoke aboard the aircraft.

What are you talking about? The man has a NOBEL PRIZE! Of course, Hitchens noted that giving Obama the Nobel was rather like giving someone an Oscar in the hope that it would motivate him to make a good motion picture...

How about we make it a crime to venerate perverts such as The Profit Muhammad (may he rot in hell) and Joseph Smith? Either of them would qualify for listing as a "Sexual Predator" these days. It might serve to balance things out a bit.

So what? I was born poor, and I have no problem with that. It's all about the money to you, isn't it? It is. You and your ilk are the greediest folks out there. Once again you show why there is so little point in attempting a sensible discussion with you. Irony score: 10/10

Obama: I actually believe in redistribution (at a certin level)

FWIW, "Little Black Sambo" was Burmese, not African. If you see a tiger in Africa, it is in a zoo; tigers are indigenous to Asia. BSBD, ' Winsor -

Obama condemns killing of U.S. ambassador to Libya

It's great to see that some posters in this thread who once mocked christianity are now standing up against religious denigration...It's gotta be one of the more momentous flip flops I' yve witnessed. It's been a long fight...I think I'm gonna cry.... I should hope that Romney should be concerned by criticism of the Profit Muhammad, since he and Joseph Smith had a lot in common. - They were both illiterate, and writings attributed to either are transcriptions of their ramblings. - They both used the Tanakh as a moral basis, and upped the ante accordingly. - They both lusted after multiple women, and 'married' anything that would stand still. They both showed a penchant for the very young, and Muhammad even went so far as to 'marry' a NINE YEAR OLD . - Their followers tout themselves as adhering to peace, but each group has a remarkably violent track record (z.B., 'The Mountain Meadow Massacre'). The list goes on. Either 'ism' is a case in point whereby religious conviction is a form of psychosis. BSBD. Winsor -

The present choice is about as appealing as having to decide whether you want Polio or Encephalitis. The temptation to cast a protest vote for a third party is strong, but the ramifications of having the worse of the two candidates win are too severe. Just another "hold you nose and vote" election.

I am trying to remember when it went out of style. 'The check is in the mail,' 'black is beautiful,' and, uh...

The DNC reaping what they sow, pretty simple..... Good - the more grassroots pressure on them the better the job they'll do. No matter how much pressure you put on incompetents, they remain incompetent.

It speaks volumes that anyone should tout cluelessness as a virtue.

You shoul be damned proud of the book written by the Seal then Which one? "Pogue Warrior?" "No shit, there I was..." (= "Once upon a time...")

Where to start? Strengthen the separation of powers, so members of one branch of the government are barred from occupying any other branch. Members of the Bar, for example, being Officers of the Court are thus banned for life from elective office in the Executive or Legislative branches. No retirement or lifetime medical plan for members of Congress. Strict term limits, say two to a customer for the Senate, and maybe three for Congress. Select Legislators by a draft system. We could hardly come up with a more malevolent lot of cretins than those we have already; make it a burden without a payoff and we won't suffer from the results of the conflict of interest that now exists. Abolish the Fed. The Federal Reserve system is purely an end run around the Constitution as it stands; plug the loophole. Enact a Sundown Clause. If stupid laws were half as easy to get rid of as they were to pass, it would greatly simplify life. It is not possible to adhere to the law if it is not physically possible to stay abreast with what is proscribed or mandatory at any location or point in time. This is just what comes to mind off the top of my head.

Look, all this is circumstantial. Sure, he may have said he was a Marxist, but do you consider him to be a credible source?

I am reminded of the tale of the French spy who infiltrated the ranks of the English ca. 18th century. Using a fox hunt as the point at which he would return to his own lines, his last act was to kill the fox with his sabre as he galloped away. The irony, of course, is that killing the fox does not mark a win, and that by so doing he merely demonstrated his consummate ignorance of the activity. 'Baptism' is similarly a bastardization of the ritual Mikvah, as interpreted by European Pagans. Someone of Hebrew extraction living in Judea in the 1st Century (the name escapes me) would have been puzzled by the rigamarole surrounding the process. BSBD, Winsor

Seriously? And you claim you're an engineer? Considering how poor your math is, it's no surprise your logic is also deficient. Math? That's kindergarten arithmetic.

Google Announces Campaign to Legalize Gay Marriage

A variety of local politicians have opposed giving further business licenses because of the stance of the principal of Chic-Fil-A. That strikes me as threatening interference on the basis of personal preference. -
Roger that. I was helping my father move to Stuart, FL when some kind of storm was making a fuss around Puerto Rico. I sagely explained that the storm would continue Westbound until it hit the Gulf Stream, at which point it would veer to the right. "Boy, are those people in the Outer Banks going to get it!" Fast forward a few days and my father had been packed off to Atlanta, and I got to see stars in the wee hours as the eye of Frances was dead overhead. Then you had the storm that was in the Gulf, which everyone knew was going to dissipate as it went Eastward across Florida. Of course, Wilma did - but she reintensified when the eye stalled on the Atlantic Coast. My in-laws were in for quite a ride as their condo rocked enough to slosh onto the floor the water they stored in the bathtub. Needless to say, when anyone asks what a hurricane is going to do my response is "gee, I don't know." Mother Nature is a bitch. BSBD, Winsor

Taking your business elsewhere to avoid patronizing a particular establishment is fine. Interfering with the ability of someone to do business because you don't like them is another thing altogether. If, for example, there was enough business to support a McDonalds on every corner, they should have the opportunity to open them. None of that business, however, will be from me either way. Legislating morality has a bad track record.
