    I hated packing until I got my own rig. The weekend I brought it home, I packed it maybe twice, specifically so I could take my sweet time without the peanut gallery coming over and giving me "helpful" advice (this was after I took and passed a packing course, mind you--I knew how to pack but was very slow). The following weekend was a different story. Just having the peace and being left alone to pack slowly and carefully without commentary from people I barely knew made a huge difference in my mindset. After that, things moved much more quickly and I actually grew to enjoy packing. I'm not a lady, I'm a skydiver.

    I would always use a rubber band wrapped around the tail of my t-shirt to tighten it. It would still ride up under canopy, but it would at least stay close to me rather than flapping about. Not the prettiest picture, but my handles were always accessible. I'm not a lady, I'm a skydiver.

    I got my A&B licenses at a DZ where a significant amount of fun jumpers eschewed suits, and moved on to a DZ where a good chunk of them wore them. It's a personal decision, really, but I learned in a suit and prefer to stay there. I hate heat, though, and spent a lot of the summer goofing off and doing fun jumps in a sports bra and shorts. When it was time to do anything over a 4 way, or turning points, it was time for the heavy booties and grippers, and even in 110 degree heat, if you wanted on a bigger-way with the RW fiends, you were wearing a suit. I'm not big on freefly, so I can't chime in on the mechanics of flying with or without a suit there, but for RW, so much hinges on the exit if you're flying it linked that a suit is really important. When I see Super Serious or Motiv8 or Arizona Airspeed visit my DZ and they're all wearing suits, I think they're probably on to something... I'm not a lady, I'm a skydiver.

    Pro: closer to your mouth so people can hear your commentary under canopy. I got plenty of laughs last week when we got sudden snow flurries on a H&P load and I got to fly in the snow and you could hear every giggle and "oh my god it's snowing you guys, why did you pull so low, you're missing it!" I'm not a lady, I'm a skydiver.
