Updating the fatality logs for 2014 and 2015
nolhtairt replied to cheapNfun's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I don't actually want to do it nor do I think I should, but it's just a matter of cross-referencing posts and just filling out the form because that info is already available on the incidence forum. I just want the info to be there in an easy to search, quantifiable format. My main question was why do the updates stop at a year and a half ago...? Ask Phreezone. He manages the Incidents forum. He might be able to give you some ideas. -
He certainly had a history with the Feds. I saw the 20/20 story on him and I was like wow, he was one of the old school outlaws in the sport, depending on who you talk to though.

So in simple terms they file this, and it stops the payments because it is back in front of the court? Seems like a pretty easy way to pay a couple $100 bucks to the lawyer that got you in the mess and to hold up payments.... Ain't America great? :-) Anybody know how much, if any, that Cary Quattrocchi has paid Skydive Arizona in that other case? -

This is the one that disappoints me. All it proves is that people who know something about aviation don't necessarily understand skydiving... what a pathetically provincial world-view from someone who by their own admission has no stake in the game anymore. I bet there's a deeper story there. Nothing new here. We've seen many times the "good ol' boys" club at the airport not wanting skydivers around. Partly because they don't understand the sport but mostly because they think the airport is "theirs" and do not like to share. Unfortunate? Saw it happen to Gold Coast Skydivers at Moss Point. -

IIRC one co-plaintiff has already opted out of future appeals and suits. Who knows? The others may not be far behind. She and ONLY she, is responsible for any drop in her property values just for suing Mile Hi and getting all this publicity. Had she simply lived her life like the majority of residents in her Gunbarrel neighborhood, there wouldn't be any issues selling her house I wouldn't think. -

Nice article. I especially like this part: See that, Kimmy? You sued like a spoiled brat. You lost. Pay up and move on. -

Are you always that snide? -
There was a guy who jumped at Skydive The Farm in GA who had one. Can't recall his name though.

Actually, one can reason with stupid. It's unproductive and I would advise the one doing the reasoning to call ahead to the local asylum and reserve a rubber room. They're going to need it. Don't forget the rubber ducky or the choo choo train.... or a strait jacket. -

More than likely she's not getting checks in the mail like before is because people aren't sending any! Like some people have said upthread, there's no reasoning with stupid. -

It's so we can make fun of and ridicule the weird kid in the back of the classroom. Maybe she'll blow a fuse someday and everybody within CQS will back off and stop helping her. Ridiculing is fun. -
Turn an old rig into a working backpack

Who needs zippers? Just sew the side and bottom flaps together and rig some kind of attachment/latch for the top flap, like where you push a button to release... -

I think what he meant was that he isn't going to be tied in to some good-ole-boy network where they protect each other, as we saw with Sherry Butcher... In any case, he gets my vote -

You could do much better by feeding those videos through Microsoft's Hyperlapse algorithm. Instead of taking every 10th frame from a single source, as they do in the demo, you'd use frames from different cameras with similar orientation. Then, by changing the frame input order, you could create a virtual camera that's free to travel throughout the entire formation. Oops, sorry, I forgot to turn on the sarcasm font. Why did you even bother with it. It reads like petty jealousy, even though you dont freefly. Aw, shucks, Squeak, it's been so long since you got up in my grill. I've missed it so. And if you read that as petty jealousy, methinks you might be projecting. I'm cheering heartily all my friends who are participating in this record, as I have friends who've done other records and competitions.

Ooh! I just had a flash of inspiration: We convince Gibbs that Skyride is the biggest proponent of skydiving in the nation. Then we sit back with a big bowl of popcorn. Now which side do I cheer? Such a dilemma... Well, they are growing... They now run DZ's in Rome GA, Cullman AL, and Tullahoma TN.
