    Agreed. All you can really do is control the things you can control. If you're teaching a student and you see something wrong with a pic in Parachutist, point it out and ask if they see anything wrong, if not, then you can explain it to them as if to say "This may look cool, but it doesn't mean you should do it" or whatever fits the situation.

    Maybe, maybe not. Perhaps the cop confronted Gunn, Gunn ran, the cop ran pursued, and when caught, Gunn "turned violent." As I noted above, there aren't enough facts being publicized to draw any real conclusions. Other than the fact that the cop has been charged, of course. But being charged doesn't always equate with being guilty. His career is likely over now, no matter how justified the shooting was. The media has already decided. Pretty much this. As is the Madison cop who injured the India grandfather last year.

    Exactly.... I do not see any chance of a snag hazard there. To put it mildly, I do not see a damn thing wrong with the gear setup.

    There is always another side to the story, I read the Sheriffs comments. It looks like he and Higgins had a parting of the ways. it happens. I doubt we've seen the last of Capt. Higgins, he was at the very least entertaining, at the most effective. The next Sheriff election there should be very interesting. Higgins should run for Sheriff. Damn skippy.

Where are all the protests? I don't see anybody protesting these. But they'll come out and protest ONE officer-involved shooting for weeks.

    I'm not a swooper, but given that there's no slider above, you're probably right. Sliders are used to control the opening sequence when the canopy's deployed, but they do somewhat hold the lines in a bit, restricting the full unfettered flight of the canopy, so swoopers use removable slider set-ups.

    There was one at the World Free Fall Convention one year. I think the pilots had challenged Mike Mullins to see which one could climb faster, the skytruck or Mike's King Air. He of course, turned them down. Now I don't remember if it really happened or if it was the actual skytruck, but the word I heard was it was running down the runway about to take off, and then Mike blew right by it in his King Air and climbed like a bat out of hell.

    THIS. By far. From what I've seen. Sure there are a smaller percentage of those that can't help it (old, disabled, etc) but the majority are just lazy good for nothing assholes.

    Kudos to the Don. He is up front and you know where he stands. If he is elected president all these accusations will be forgotten. Remember, he is a 100% New Yorker; it's what they do. I've seen and heard New Yorkers threatened to sue over trivial matters many times living in FL. I'm thinking of that scene from Rocky V, the unscrupulous and annoying boxing promoter telling Rocky "touch me and I sue!" (WHACK!) (thud) "Sue me for what?" Trump is usually full of hot air.

Edwards announces a severe budget shortfall and says if lawmakers don't vote for his tax increases, then he's going to shut down a lot of services, including health care services and higher learning. Specifically, state universities, including LSU, before the spring semester is completed. This in turn will shut down classes and leave all students with an "Incomplete" grade, rendering them ineligible for NCAA sports this fall. In other words, no (gasp) LSU football. I'm thinking he's bluffing. Who knows? Cajuns could riot in the streets or whatnot, but I'd probably call it political suicide. It's a mess.

    I also jumped this fantastic airplane (Mike Mullins') in 1989 at Couch Freaks and 1990 at Grandpa's Jumpfest in Albert Lea, MN. I knew Mike had a helio stallion but that was before my time. Did it have the bullet holes in it as the story I heard about said?
