Most of the tele skiers I know can pretty much smoke any alpine skier and snowborder over most terrian. I know when i am on the groomers i can tear it up and give any body a run for thier money. powder is still another story, i suck there. youll have to give me another year.

Ive only teled the last few years when the snow wasnt really good enough for the alpines or when i was just bored. But its far diffrent from Xcountry skiing. Starting with the boots, most tele boots now days are as stiff and strong as alpine ski boots, the bindings are also bigger and beefier than what they were years ago. And for the skis most people just mount thier bindings on regular old alpine skis. Tele skiing is just like regular skiing except its like 10 times harder. But the biggest advantage of teles is the light weight and the ability to easily through some skins on and head out into the back country. I can flat out motor out into the middel of no where. Thats the cool part. hope ive some what answered your question

You should check out Run Lola Run, its a german flick with subtitles. but its a very good action type movie with a chick for the star. It stars Franka Potente who was also in the Bourne Identity she played Jason Bournes girlfriend. Deffinatley worth seeing.

I just came back from costa a few weeks ago. And here are a few places I would recomend. Jaco, its trashy but fun. Quepos and Manuel Antonio which are just south of Jaco were pretty nice. Montezuma. Lake Arenal. Theres also a volcano that goes off several times a day there which is pretty cool. Monteverde, which from what we heard had the best zip lines. And so much more. If you dont have a lonley planet guide book you should get one cause they really come in handy. And like stated before its not as cheap as you think we went through money fast. If you want to know any more pm me and ill fill you in on the "really good" places to go . happy travels

I keep reading about how hard and diffucult it is to be a jump pilot. As another low time pilot, who would like to fly jumpers one day i am just courious as to what makes it so hard. Is it the type of airplane, the load, the possibilty of an accident or engine failure? I am towing gliders right now, and i cant possibly see how much harder it is to fly jumpers. I've been alomst pulled off runways, and yarded all over the place, and thats while i am still on the ground, and its just as bad in the air. so would somebody please elaberate.

Anyone traveled with rig since hightened security?
DanDruff replied to kansasskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
Just went to Ohau with my rig last week. had 2 security check points each way, had no problems what so ever. Most security personell just thought i was crazy, and they asked all kinds of skydiving questions, it was not nearly as bad as i thought it was going to be. you should have no problems. -
I'd go to whistler, the place is friggin huge you could ski there all week and not ski the same line twice, and its got huge vert and the after hours scene in the village can get out of hand.

I just got the ipod last week and its the coolest thing sinced sliced bread. its really easy to use and it holds a crap load of music 5000 songs for 20GB one. the only downfall is that the battery only lasts 8 or so hours. but thats wasy to work around. i would deffinatley reccomend the ipod
