No file servers? I think the point was that the help desk wouldn't back anything up before wiping the computer to reload the image.... That's another problem, I used to work for a LARGE corporation and yes, we have servers and ENCOURAGED and I personally DEMANDED that the users saved their data to their network drive, but...maybe 1% does that, why? because something that I've been saying all this time EDUCATE THE USER, I took the time to explain and guide the user, after a 10 or 15 or even 30 mins (depending on how "bright" the user was) NO MORE PROBLEMS. Now, the "reimaging" and "wiping everything" is a quick solution, yes, why?, because nowadays those corporations are hiring morons who don't know crap about customer satisfaction and IT, why pay a professional (like yours truly) a decent salary when you can hire a doofus and pay him/her minimum wage just to press a key. I haven't seen House of the Flying Daggers yet (not out on DVD yet), but I think Hidden Dragon, Crouching Tiger was the best movie to come out of China in a long while... better than Hero IMO...
