  1. It's kind of a black and white thing. Either discrimination is permissable or not. If it's permissable, opinions will then vary as to which type is 'good' or 'bad.' I submit that taking innate characteristics into consideration that are unrelated to the job at hand is unacceptable. Options selected by a candidate are fair game. This is to say that someone's taking the podium to espouse the destruction of the capitalist system by infiltration of industry from within may be a valid concern for offering said candidate a position later, for example. To include a mediocre violinist as first chair to address historical inequality is pure idiocy. Patronizing one generation to 'correct' past injustices, real or perceived, is the kind of good intentions with which the road to hell is paved. I'm cool with equality, your well intentioned inequality you can have.
  2. Not supporting the scum that rose to the top on the right, but Woke is a disease of denial.
  3. "May you live in interesting times." Classic Chinese curse
  4. Completely unlike the Democrats, who caught on instantly to Joe Biden's dementia. Got it.
  5. Referencing Sowell is casting pearls before swine intellectually. He provides data, and the response is "Feelings, nothing more than feelings, whoa, whoa, whoa, feelings..."
  6. Somehow you expect more than snark in response. I wish I could.

    Trump

You get NAACP bigwigs that turn out to be entirely of European extraction and people that want to go through life as many things they are not. Seems like an exercise in futility, but whatever floats your boat. There are some ideologies that are without redeeming value. Those that, say, approve of rape of outsiders of any gender are definitively reprehensible. Actually, the Church of Satan has a lot to recommend it. Its identity is primarily a "fuck you" to mainstream religion, and it has an awful lot more going for it than any of the basics of the Democratic Party (Republicans are maybe 2% less bad).

    Trump

Though I shudder to think of who will follow Trump, since the Democrats are sure to capitalize on the richly earned loathing he elicits to get the most mediocre candidate possible elected, a significant portion of his agenda are both warranted and impossible to implement gently. The way to put a halt to freestyle immigration isn't to build a wall, it's to make it so you'd have to be out of your fucking mind to be in a country without ironclad credentials. Think North Korea or Iran. I, personally, prefer a guerilla theater approach, where you give the convincing impression of harsh treatment with paid participants (out of work actors) playing the victims. The only goal is results. "Right back atcha" trade legislation makes perfect sense. Trump adds the wild card of it being unclear quite what he intends - nobody is going to bank on him having a rational game plan. Ripping Woke out by the roots is gratifying. Support for "good" racism and sexism is nauseating, and a system that is purely merit based has the edge over any preferences to identity. The days of people "identifying" as whatever their fantasies dictate have rather run their course. It is unfortunate that Trump taints anything he touches, since the baby is sure to go out with the bath water. He does tend to give sociopathic idiots a bad name (Ukraine started WHAT?!). Having said that, if an economic reset can take place to address the $Trillions we owe without complete implosion, I'm cool with having him to take the heat.
  9. Some acts require the whole family. "The Aristocrats" comes to mind.

    Measles

Look at it as Darwinian. Stupid people shouldn't breed in the first place. Given that a four year degree is now what a High School diploma used to be, do you favor another generation of Freshmen who can barely spell their own names? Stupidity should be lethal - though it should be for potential parents rather than kids.

    Trump

It is said that a diplomat is someone who can tell you to go to hell in such a way that you look forward to the trip. Unfortunately, Trump is the exact opposite. Getting past the bombast is difficult, as is picking the gems from the dreck. When Ford was in office I concluded that a trade policy based on reciprocal tariffs was the way to go. Sell a variety of goods in Japan, for example, keep track of every tax and impediment between import and sale, and duplicate the process with what they sell here - no more, no less. Trump then took a policy that could have been pitched as fair and balanced and put it across as capricious and unhinged. Classic Trump. It is unfortunate that he is so truly unlikeable, and that anything or anyone associated with him is thus tainted. People I knew in Germany who survived on Marshall Plan rations would not touch peanut butter thereafter because of its use for starvation avoidance. I'm afraid that anything that could constitute sound policy may henceforth elicit the same kind of revulsion if associated with Trump.
  12. I'm sure you mean well. You have the kind of good intentions with which the road to hell is paved. Nobody thinks of themselves as evil. Heinrich Himmler described himself as a "simple policeman."

Clinton - at least the budget was balanced.

I recall the evasion of legal constraints placed upon the Chancellor by becoming a "Fuehrer," whose limits were undefined/non-existent.
  15. Amazing the level of projection here. It's reminiscent of the patient seeing nothing but prurient images in the ink blots. "You have a dirty mind!" "Hey, you're the one showing me all the dirty pictures!" It is left as an exercise to the reader to discern who is who.
  16. Yup, you got it. "How'd you do on the Radio Announcer interview?" "They d- d- didn't hire me 'cause I'm Je- Je- Jewish."
  17. On the first go around, I had vowed to vote for Charlie Manson to keep Hillary out of the Oval Office. Charlie was busy, so Trump was the next best thing. This time around we were left with a candidate that lacked the raw evil of Hillary, as well as any shred of competence. If Kamala did not espouse the most brainless variation of Marxim (DEI), perhaps she would still have been an improvement over Trump. As it is, I can only hope that his seriously dunderheaded inclinations (Ukraine, Greenland etc.) can be kept in check by appealing to his avarice and/or ego, but I have confidence that the left has the capacity to fuck things up even worse. I do wish he wasn't such a loathsome piece of shit, but the scum rises to the top.
  18. She's a certified idiot. As a person, I liked Jimmy Carter a lot. Dick Nixon, OTOH, was truly dreadful. Having said that, we are still stuck with the damage born out of Carter's naivete but Nixon did a much better job than I'd prefer to give him credit. Ripping DEI/woke out by its roots and at least attempting to address the debt gives Trump the edge. Undoing decades worth of well intentioned damage can't be done gently.
  19. Oddly enough, despicable though Trump may be, our prospects under Harris would be significantly worse. There's a difference between handling things badly and not handling them at all. It's like the sign: 1) Pull 2) Pull at a proper altitude 3) Pull at a proper altitude while stable etc. We still may wind up like Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Cuba or other such garden spots, but at least that's not the goal - which is a measurable improvement.
