  1. I have seen the results of cutting away first and then pulling reserve in PC in tow scenario. Fortunately, he is still around to talk about it. His main came out during deployment but because he had two flopping risers (no longer attached to rig cuz he cutaway) they snagged the reserve slider and up they went. Mostly collapsing his reserve. He lived by luck of the swing. He now jumps a pull out which is one way to deal with this. 1. Prevention. Avoid, avoid, avoid. 2. PC in tow? Pull Reserve handle. I already know what I'm gonna do with two out. Dealing with an entanglement that I can't reach? WTF you gonna do now? Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  2. LOL!!! Funniest thing I seen in awhile.
  3. United 232. Good luck getting the door open. That flight was coming in hot and fast because it couldn't extend the flaps. They manually extended the gear and touched down at over 200 knots. They did a hell of a job getting anyone to live through that experience. But again, you sure weren't gonna be able to jump from it. Not to mention your ass would be tackled by passengers and crew for making a disturbance in the back during an emergency situation.
  4. Damnit Yoda, you aren't supposed to make us young jedi look so naive! LOL....oh man I'm crying here. ROFLMAO. signed....Luke. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  5. Man, that is a rip off! If I hitch a ride on one of these planes, I don't want to pay more than $100 bucks roundtrip. Why, because we would basically be treated like a piece of cargo, no seats, no bathrooms, no flight attendants to fluff my pillow and no food! Not to mention, they would probably forget to pressurize the cabin, expect some hypoxia. We won't need to drink very much booze to get wasted! It's ghetto style! I think the military transports at least give their boys seats to sit it! We would have nothing, I'm assuming that they are tearing out most if not all the seats in the DC-9. It is so easy for them to just let us tag a long for the trip, they have to fly there anyway, why not charge a smaller fee, just to help get people there? I'm with you Phreezone, if they end up charging more than that, I'll just find my own ride. 200 bucks for going 3/4 of the way across the United States is too much? Are you nuts? You know, people pay big bucks for charter flights so they can go from where they want to where they want, and when they want to. Tell me, what airline service operates into and out of Rantoul? Hmmmmm? That's right, nobody. 200 bucks is small pitens to pay for a DC-9 ride. Oh, and you aren't helping the AC owner out by riding along really. The more weight you take the more fuel you burn. It costs more money to haul your ass along than it does empty. If empty, they can just make up the cost with the ferry fee to the event organizer(s). Last time I talked to Rob they were going to leave a few rows of seats in all the time so they could carry "essential" people to their events. Scott, I suggest you become Rob's new bestest buddy and big toe.
  6. Ok, now you have my interest. Somehow when I save a picture that comes as a .jpg my puter tries to save it as .bmp. Where to I find the panel to change that? It didn't used to be that way and something got changed. Just don't know what.
  7. Do you want to control what comes out? Or do you want stuff flopping around that could snag and collapse your reserve? No thanks. Priority #1: Prevent, prevent, prevent this situation from happening. Priority #2: If this is a PC in tow on my rig I'm pulling reserve straight way. If two canopies then deploy I know what I can do about it. I do not like playing Russian Roulette like you all with regards to cutting away on a PC in tow. Scary, scary. 8. Bwahahahhahahaha!!!! ROFLMFAO!!!
  9. Thanks, Chris... now get back to my pedicure.. Dayum! I guess it's not a silverback but rather a yellow streak.
  10. List? I got your list right here. Schindler's list. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  11. Yah...you guys should be ashamed picking on a girl like that! You guys all splashing around in the water trying to get attention?
  12. AFAIK, there are no "type ratings" for A&P's so I'd think that any A&P could work on it and any IA could sign off an inspection (it does require an IA to sign off a 100 hour or annual, doesn't it?). I would imagine that this Jet will be on a "progressive inspection" program. And that doesn't mean it gets your typical 100 hour. There will be certain things any A&P can sign off and then there are the big things that the IA is needed for. I'm sure they are working all that out and will have it in order for the Feds. This ISN'T your typical jump plane. It's a transport category aircraft jet. I'm sure the Feds will be very active in how all this is run to make sure. Again, I look forward to seeing this at WFFC this year.
  13. I think you are diluting yourself. It's no standard. The standard is SAFE aircraft with well trained pilots. That's the standard. The rest is fluff. And no, no one else is gonna need a Jet. Look at what they are going to have to do with it in between boogies. That "other" flying doesn't come easy and you have to shake a lot of trees to get it. No, DC-9s are not the Otters' replacement. It will be interesting to see how it works out for them. But you sure aren't going to close a 182 DZ just because you have a jet. I look forward to seeing it at WFFC though.
  14. Oh. Well. It's not like you are making the decision to move them. That's already been done. Good luck to you.
  15. So what you gonna be doing Kevin?
  16. Why would you feel the need to crush anyone? Competition can be healthy and not everyone is gonna like the same golf course. Sometimes you like the country club. Sometimes you like going to the public, rough course.
  17. Right, because the FAA should be skipping through a field of daiseys just because want them to approve this? Oh pahhleeezz. I'm actually surprised that they said 3 months. I know a lot of new Part 135 certificates can take a year and a half. You all seem to be getting off light OR they have been working on this that long already and the timing is down to about 3 months. Either way, this stuff don't happen overnight. And maybe the FAA hates you locally but I would say that isn't true across America. There are plenty of DZs that have good working relationships with the FAA. I've worked with them several times myself in Kansas City and Chicago. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

    boys lie

Oh, I can talk for hours girly.
  19. Power Racer with a Stilleto 150? Hmmmm...I didn't realize it would fit. My bad.
  20. Well, that wouldn't be a lie now would it. I DID go to the store myself and I DID put it in the microwave to warm up myself. Where's the lie in that?
  21. As long as you're wearing the school girl outfit.
