Gear up landing? Now where might that have happened recently? Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

Sorry, that's NOT the break even point. That is the direct operational cost and not the cost of operating a DZ. You have insurance, pilot pay, electrics, grounds keepers, manifest, future improvements, pee pits, tiki bars, etc to pay for out of that income from the people you fly. Don't go getting all warm and fuzzy that you can run a turbine plane with 4 people and make it come out even because it won't. I suspect that you need to run that plane 80% full over the year to make any money. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

Yes.....cause remember to ALWAYS throw the drogue for stability!!! Seen it. Been the pilot. Was pissed. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

Wendy, my love. You are the most amazing person. Thank you for this birthday wish and thank you for being in my life. Thank you for being someone that I can share my life, with an enthusiasm I have never known. We compliment each other well I think. It's true. We are Mr. and Mrs. Dorknurd. Sept. 4th I look forward to and will always look forward to each year. I can't wait. It's you! Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

Since 9/11 I have kicked off the following: 2 drunk ass rednecks who couldn't keep from saying stupid shit on the plane. A Korean couple that had a fist fight on my plane. And I have warned several other WHITE people that they are being more of a threat than anything else.

I've heard several announcements on recent flights about not congregating near the front lav... did you not get the memo? J Are you sure you got that from the pilots or the flight attendants? I took exception with that part of the article and the general hysterical paranoia they all have. edit: also that announcement is because 1st class passengers are mad that coach passengers are coming front to use their lav. Airlines are no longer allowed to pull a curtain closed to seperate the sections of the aircraft due to security. There's more to the story than middle eastern men congregating because they have to take a leak.
-
I just had the same thing happen. Not a middle east conspiracy but an over paranoid passenger telling me that something was not right about a middle east looking man taking photos of the plane. Uh, do you know how many photos I'VE taken of the planes I fly? Am I a threat? Sheeeez people. Not every dark skinned man is "on a dry run" for another attack. Oh, and pilots haven't been instructed to make any announcements about gathering in places around the plane. This is bogus as far as I can see.

"Compressed Cabin" theory is not based on PHYSICS.

I never said you had to use a regular seat belt that came standard with the plane. Of course we have to modify things so they are actually safe to use in our type of operation. My bad for assuming that this would make sense. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125 -
Hard not to. You *never* shut up! (is this the part where I'm supposed to say something like ) No, it's the part where you say "How would like to have me now?"
-
Can you hear me now?

Glad I got to meet you Tippy. See you on the other side you ol' hound. Blue skies. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

If the floor is flat and it happens to be going up still I don't see a problem with that. If you are in a full power climb then I agree with you. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

So, what are YOU looking forward to most about Rantoul this year??
diverdriver replied to Unstable's topic in The Bonfire
I am such a privileged person to know you Mar. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125 -
Champaign to Rantoul is about 30 minutes I guess. It's just south of Rantoul.

Some people were nervous about going to the "tent". Amazing, that's what the tent was there for! Yes, Mar, you did not suck. Not great. But at least you didn't suck. Luv yah!!!! -
The only "Mr. D" that I know of is N129H. Have not heard the lore of another 3 called Mr. D. But I'm learning all the time. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

Absolutely. Before Rantoul happens I'll try to figure which days I'll be there. I like to go during the week but it might be a weekend that I'm there this time. -

"Compressed Cabin" theory is not based on PHYSICS.
diverdriver replied to diverdriver's topic in Safety and Training
Yes, and during that crash because of contaminated fuel the jumper was ejected from the plane. This jumper was the "serious injury" listed on the report. The report itself does not describe the ejection but it did happen and the person has posted here on DZ.com about it. It surves as a warning to all to check that they are using their seatbelts and restraints in a way that will maximize their survivability. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125 -
It's called "Last jumper out". I was informed of this when I became a new jump pilot in 1995. I didn't think it was funny so I always cupped my hand over the key as people climbed out. No one ever tried it on me. Glad they didn't. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

Could I suggest a power reduction to fly slower and keep the floor flat? With less weight you can fly slower to maintain altitude. Or, just plan on a climbing jumprun to keep the floor flat. Just a suggestion. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
