Hi! Today you're more current than I am! I did jump last weekend, but am working today and was too busy with "family" stuff yesterday! Cant wait til next weekend! I might actually get in three days of jumping if I can find a babysitter! Welcome to the forums.
-
Sounds like you got a great bargain - since I love to shop, I'd be excited about getting such a good deal! It's a chick thing.
-
Right on! Let's try to hook up for a jump! (Or at least a beer!) Have Jen bring ya out.
-
Patrick, I'll be organizing at Eloy on the 8th and 10th --- working on shift the 7th, 9th and 11th. In Vegas for the national finals rodeo for the 12th -14th. Are you coming for the 300ways?
-
Greg - Thanks for sharing. I'm so glad Nick is okay. I'm going to give my daughter a big hug when I get home. (she's only 11 months, so I'm new to all this parent anxiety!)

My heart goes out to each of you "northerners". As nice as it is to jump in Eloy right now... I have to remember all summer when it was well over 100 degrees and most folks quite jumping by noon because of the thermal activity. (lots of dust devils). So I guess it all evens out.

I'm amazed at how many of the individuals in each reply that I've met! Each time I read another story, I think oh yah, him too!!!! We really have an amazing sport. Kate Cooper is my hero. I used to buy equipment for my AFF graduates through Square One back in the eighties when I was a Kansas jumper. Kate was great then and is even more incredible now! Bungee Wallace was a really special guy. He brought magic to the dz. The wilbur's were never the same after Bungee died.

That's still my favorite skydiving movie. Totally good vibes.

Welcome to skydiving - maybe you'll be jumping with us at the next WFFC as well!
-
Patrick - You're Greg's cousin? Cool. I'm friends with his wife.
-
You have a beautiful family!!!! My daughter is only 11 months old, so I'll be asking you for advice!!!
-
Grant - I find myself smiling at the same concept that you have just written about... It's funny being a newbie! Right on!
-
Right On! Congrats and good luck!!!!

Welcome! This is alot of fun, lurking and posting. Gosh, makes me feel bad that our weather is so good that I'm jumping instead of on-line. Right..... -
Hi! I had to go out to Eloy yesterday for a little therapy myself! Welcome to the forums! (I'm new as well!)

Jump out of a perfectly good airplane?
flailchick replied to theshu's topic in Introductions and Greets
Hi! I agree with the doing the tandem method as well. As an instructor, I can give you better canopy control training if we are together for those first few jumps. Then you can concentrate on the level four freefall skills when you transition, without worrying about your canopy flying! I know the owner and several of the instructors at Molalla - they're awesome people. I would definately jump there if I was in the Portland area. Good Luck & Blue Skies! -
Hello and Welcome. It must be tough to be a student jumper in Ireland this time of year.... or any kind of jumper in Ireland this time of year! I'm refering to the weather, of course. You're welcome to come visit Sunny Arizona!

Hello and welcome to skydiving to both of you!!! I'm very excited for you. I remember thinking in the early days "what if I'd never stumbled onto this incredible subculture of awsome individuals..." Skydiving is more than a sport or a hobby, it's a life changing adventure. (Of course that may be because you will have no money left over to do anything else!)

Hi James! My old favorite: My drinking club has a skydiving problem.

Welcome! I'm new to posting as well... I'm kinda getting hooked on these forums though. (Guess I'm not busy enough at work!) Did you make it out to Perris last month during the JFTC event? It was pretty awesome. I hope you get some air soon

Hi! My name is Lori. I've read postings off and on for a couple years now, but finally signed on after reading Lisa's account of the women's records. I was looking at her smiling face behind Kate Cooper for a week, so I feel like I know her! (Ok, I was supposed to be looking at Wendy Graham - and I did in freefall - most of the time.) I was a base chick on the record and will admit to a serious adrenaline addiction. I will celebrate my 20th year in this crazy sport in April! Yeah!!! Some of you might know me from Eloy. I'm one of the Team Flail organizers. (Team Flail is made up mostly of local Arizona skydivers who are not on a team, want non-stress fun belly flying skydives. Transients are not only welcome, but encouraged 'cause we love looking at new smiling faces in freefall!) Work as a firefighter/paramedic for a city fire department. I'm not an experienced forum "poster"... willing to listen and learn!
