The media IS biased; biased towards the easy story. The media is profit driven and like any other company has to make money. It’s the sensational stories that bring in the viewers and ad revenue. Investigative journalism or real journalism for that matter costs money and takes too much time for a 30 sec sound bite world. Well you know how that that turned out. Then the justification was that we liberated millions of people - liberated to kill each other, kill and maim US soldiers, and to become refugees. Then Iraq was to be a beacon democracy that would spread throughout the region and be an ally in the fight against terrorism. Any word on how that’s going? Most recently, Bush is hoping for a country that can govern itself and defend its boarders. Instead we got a civil war. Now you’re telling me we’re there to build things. Some of the same things we blow up when Iraq was invaded. There is no doubt our soldiers are doing a good job, but they are essentially just fixing the passed mistakes of an incompetent Republican administration. Failure was set in motion long before we invaded because the Bush administration didn’t understand or plan for (ignored plans) the reality of Iraq. The Iraq occupation is now a salvage operation in the middle of a predictable civil war; an occupation so fucked up it’s unclear what is the worst scenario is, staying or leaving.

A stalemate in Iraq now substitutes for progress or winning (the word victory dropped from vocabulary) Failed to respond quickly and adequately to Katrina because Bush appointed his cronies with no experience. Broken boarders and no immigration policy. ... on and on Ya, all in all, it’s been a great 7 years and a good thing they didn't get dug into our lives.

You posted the transcripts of Limbaugh’s explanation (revision of history) aired the following day. I read the original transcript in its entirety (Bill posted the relevant part) and saw the video for myself, and to anyone with a modicum intellectual integrity, there is no doubt that Limbaugh called Iraqi war veterans who oppose the war phony soldiers. Limbaugh was not talking about Jesse MacBeth as he claimed the following day. Phil

You're right - there's a lot of talk but little seems to be done. I try to do my part. For years I walked to work and I carpool with my new job. My next car will be a hybrid and a well insulated house is a priority in house hunting. Nonetheless, I can't give up skydiving - my only vice. Phil
