G'day from.... USA!!!!!!!!! I'm BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK! Well, I pretty much slept my entire flight, so the long ass flight in economy didn't suck that bad. My transfer flight to DC I had a whole row to myself, so that was some good sleeping. Got home, took a shower, and went straight to the bars with my best friends. It brought a tear to my eye to be back drinking with them. You really don't realize how grateful you are for your family/friends/car/etc until it's gone. I'm sure I'll start missing all you crazy Aussies eventually... hmm... eh we'll see Haha, ok, time to get back to drinkin with my friends, CYA!!!

So my semester of studying abroad has come to an end. I've drunk myself stupid, rarely attended class, and became the packing bitch at the dropzone. Overall, it was a fuckin amazing time. But alas, my ride to the airport will be here soon. Goodbye Australia! I'll miss you! 24 hours of travelling, here i come! Next post will be back in the good ol' USA

i was talking to a guy at the dropzone this weekend about this (no i dont want one, he just has lots of piercings). he said that airport metal detectors dont go off with surgical stainless steel. i mean, people have earings, navel rings, tongue rings (like me), and any other sorts of piercings and you never see them going off for things like that. with a PA you wouldnt have a problem going through the airport. to add, he also said out of his 11 piercings that genitalia hurt the least and are the quickest to heal, and give the most pleasure. even with all that, keep the needle away from my junk!

i've always thought about this for quite a while now, and it seems to me that the best place to put a chip would be inside the hackey. that way, there is nothing extra on your risers/canopy/freebag that could possibly screw up deployment, reserve deployment, whatever. it's out of the way, and its going with your canopy when you chop. the issue with battery life for the falcon transmitters: it says on there that the device is turned on and off with magnets. apply a magnet and the device turns off. putting magnets into your rig would be kinda tricky thought and wouldn't work with my chip in the hackey idea. i always wanted to keep that "in the hackey" idea to myself and somehow market it in the future, but in all reality that'll most likely never happen so there's my idea if anyone wants to use it. in regards to not wanting to use a main thats been lost for 35 days, i know someone who lost a canopy in a baglock, found it about a year later, got it inspected by a very well known rigger and he deemed it jumpable and in no way damaged. however, i'm sure that would be a different story for canopies chopped that are already out of the bad and exposed to the elements. but if you have a tracking device on your canopy there is no way you shouldn't find it within a few hours of chopping it. and now i'm $0.02 poorer.

If skydiving didn't exist. . . .what sport would you do?
BGill replied to Bigwallmaster's topic in The Bonfire
back home i'm sure i would be really into snowboarding and biking (road biking is what i've been more into lately than mountain biking) down here in australia i probably wouldve gotten into surfing, either that or kiteboarding... both of which i really want to get into but dont have the cash for there's just something about "regular" sports that just doesnt do it for me... -
ya know AD, i like the way you think

my favorite one i've heard a TM at my dz say to a student: as they're gearing up the student and they're down there tightening up the students leg straps "oh dont worry, im not gay... i sucked a dick last week and didn't like it at all!"

exaclty 100 miles to Delmarva (takes a little less than 1.5 hours) about 130 miles to Xkeys (less than 2 hours) about 75km to Picton here in Australia (45 mins)
-
Not to rub it in or anything, but I do believe I had the worst sunburn this weekend at Picton. Putz said my "eyes were glowing because my face was so red". Damn it hurts. But you know what... it's gonna be 39C tomorrow and I'll be at the beach, don't really care if it's worse cuz Thursday I'm heading back into the winter wonderland of the good ol' USofA!
