A large majority of folks that get hurt and killed due to a low turn aren't the swoopers. They're the people that swear they won't turn low. The problem is they don't work on learning how to turn low, how to do so safely (flat turns) then when they need to do a turn (off landing into obsticles) they screw up. Very well said.....

I have no political representation. (The left no longer has avioce in US politics) yup..... The government is drifting toward theocracy. (I am an atheist) yupII , and others who share my interests, are completely without effective mechanisms to remedy things like the unconstutional acts of congress since 9-11. (e.g. Patriot 1&2, etc...) yupIII let me add something that is very ignored in this forum as my rights are taken away....they allow millions of illegals to flood this country and steal services.

the USPA lowered the standards to become an AFFI. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- this i unfortunatly agree with i got my rating in 96 at a don yarling course i was started off with lvl 2's , then 1&2's, then 3's by the staff as a way of testing and introducing me to the real world of aff. everyone on the staff had to agree that i was ready for single jumpmaster jumps before i was allowed to take one. i wouldnt trade that method for anything. i also wouldnt trade (hell week) for anything either however much i hated evaluators dressed up and acting like a bubble brained stripper's or a maniac indian crop duster.... it was an extreme learning experience, that stripped away all or most of your ego, and left you with your flying/teaching skills. while i appaude you for getting your rating, i dont think taking single jumpmaster students fresh out of the course is a good idea. even yarling would state this in his course. even after a 6 jump course, i wanted to take anything i could into the air.....after a few lower levels, i was glad i didnt..... all a level 7 means is: they know enough to scare you more or hurt/kill themselves quicker and.....NO tandom is not a valid teaching tool for one reason.... somewhere in the back of their heads....they know the person on their backs will pull for them. used as an intro to canopy control or intro to turns ok....but nothing else this sport is about self reliance/responsability g

Don't lose sight of the idea that maybe mom and dad didn't care for the incidence of public exhibitionism to be thrust upon their 5 and 9 year old. another reason i like ron......he knows!! having had my aff cherry busted at a very busy ne dropzone in 96 (over 110 grads that year) i have seen everything from students that needed unannounced exits due to exit anxity(push on set) telling students that the little blond jm used to be a guy.......(spent more time thinking about that than the fear.) watching the little blond jm question the manhood of the member of REDMAN (the rapper) crew after a girl jumped and he didnt want to go....(it got him to the door) and he had no problem with it..... adding extra things to do on a aff6 with a few exceptional students.....making it an aff7..... and during the debrief being slightly negative..... surprising them with the anouncment that they graduated..... every student is different...and different students need different things aff is just as much a mind game as it is a teaching tool. (how to teach someone to relax during an un-natural act) LIKE the first time i tried beastiality...heh heh...my favorite one and yes ...i am guilty of...... noticing a pale sweaty tandem.....and starting to discuss with the tandom master the fun of doing each others mothers.....no longer pale....but the look of disbelief was great.....(the student still jumps by the way) have fun save your life.... do it again.... thats why we all started by the way.....i am a firm believer in the DEATH SPEECH..... aff since 96
