30 U.S. dollars though, it aint cheap to skydive in thailand like you think it would be. For 200 baht you can get a nice airconditioned room on a beautiful beach in koh samui, am meal for 75 baht, i back of smokes for 50 baht and a jump ticket for 1300 baht. I would have though skydiving would be a cheaper option in thailand. the owners will make a killing considering the operating costs in thailand and theur overheads. Though it seems like it is being run by americans or europeans, there is no way that a foreigner can own land in thailand, they must have a wife who is thai who owns the land or a person who is part of their company who is thai who owns the land. This says to me that at any time when the buissness bevomes sucessfull the thai person who is owning the land could easily turn around and say to the foreigners who run the dz that they are not welcome anymore. No i am not 'positive' but have been advised of this many times. Something along the lines of their being a boogie there once a year when the thai airforce let you jump or something, am i wrong here? Please correct me if you know different but i know there was a huge boggie recently, a one off i know but thought there was also a day that the airforce let a boggie happen. I am interested in finding more out on this if anyone knows more details of skydiving in thailand. where are you now in thailand? out of curiosity, how can you be there for the next 6 months? are you crossing the boarder ever every month to renew the visa? You will find that there is one day a year of skydiving allowed in thailand. I am heading back for my 6th time in febuary for a round three months. i Went to a thai boxing camp on koh samui last time i was there so will be going to stay in the camp for 2 more months and then head up around chang mai. I cant wait to get back to thailand, i am having withdrawl symptoms of the thai food and culture. Life in thailand is like nothing you could experience without being there. Nothing to worry about and lots of adventure. last time i was on koh samui we hired some bikes and went uo to the middle of koh samui, got lost, ran out of gas three times, the ride should have taken a few hours, we were in that jungle for around 14 hours, completley lost, going in circles, pushing the bikes up massive hills, an asthma attack, my mate got bitten on the head from a monkey....this was the greatest day i had in thailand. I got 2 pc 105's. I got a coverplan on it when i bought it. My car got broken into. cam got stolen and then i got a replacement from the coverplan. 2 months later the police ring up and say they have recovered my camera and my laptop from a raid on a house. I was in no position to argue with the officer I have held on to it just in case the store ever rings up and says, they want one back, but that was a while ago now. On the instructions though it is called the 300v rebel Ti. Before the 330d came out, there were film cameras called rebels. Were there not? Anyways, i worked out a deal out with the girlfriend, as soon as i have the cash for the 300d she will buy my 300v off me and one of my pc 105's. Mate, You will overcome the fear, and start to get out the door quicker and experiment with flying styles and landings. It is alot to take in when you first start. I have not jumped in a while and am now getting back in it. I am scared shitless for my first recurrency jump. Can't wait though to get it out of the way. i have read about broken femas caused from extremley hard openings. never seen it though. Do realise that you are involved in a risk taking sport and a broken fema is the least of your worries. Sure a broken fema would be bad but you are jumping out of a plane. You need to realise the risks in the sport before you can be comfortable. You might never break a bone in skydiving, you may never injure yourself, you may never see someone hit the deck. You must be aware though of what can happen and what can go wrong. it might be a good thing that you are scared breaking your fema because then you will make sure you pack properly each time. I am scared of hitting the deck, so i go over my emergency procedures all the time when i am waiting for my load. Sorry to put things like this. Do not let fear put you off the sport, it is good to be nervous, otherwise i would have to think you were crazy. I get the chills everytime i am on jump run. I think it makes a safe skydiver though.
