ANZ i thought was called ansett new zealand. I might be wrong though was sure they are closed and they were the cheaper one. Air new zealand is a very expensive air line. Anz is not around anymore. It can be very pricey, so much cheaper to drive, especially if two people and so much more worth the drive. Riing up flight center in new zealand. It can cost around 500nzd to get from auckland to queenstown, it is cheaper to fly to australia. I personally would suggest driving or you will miss it all. The best part about new zealand is the drive from top of south island to christchurch and then queenstown up the west coast. Driving around the west coast is the best part of the country and probably the greates thing to do. You could buy a decent car for $1000nzd get a ferry across the islands for $140nzd and petrol for driving the whole country would only be a couple of hundred bucks nzd. You can then leave your car at an auctions in auckland and they will mail you the cheque when they sell it. seriously wendy, if you can drive, then drive, or you really will miss outt he best parts, fox glacier, nelson, marlborough sounds, milford, wanaka, kaikora, picton. You can hire a speed boat for !40 for a full day and take it waterskiing around the marlborough sounds for a day, climb a glacier on fox, go on a boat cruise in milford etc. I did alot of work in tourism over in nz so if you want any info yell out.... I think you will also find alot of good info from rhys about the south island. There are some great things in the north as well but driving in the south is a must do! You could drive from auckland to christchurch in 13 hours. Christchurch to queenstown in 5 hours, queenstown up the west coast to picton in about 8-12 hours (i think), ferry across to the north and then wellington to auckland in 8 hours. Go via the corromandel, add another 4 hours. Just bught my tickets to Thailand today! Going december. Been there a ton of times already..... $5 cabin on the beach per night, $2.50, half bottle of vodka, one bottle of red bull with pure crystal meth and a can of coke in a sand castle bucket (thai buckets)! $5- one motorbike for 24 hours.
