A stack pack is a better option. The nose can still be oriented forward, and the tail wrapped around like a pro pack. Reserves are often packed that way. A rigger should be able to show you how to do it for a main. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I think that most people do not support the extreme elements of the agenda of gay rights activists. Typical of this is the part where it involves what they want young school children to be taught about alternative lifestyles. I have seen the type of books they advocate to be used in very early grades. Afraid of the most extreme parts of their agenda, many will want to reject anything they advocate. It is a predictable response. They don't just want to get married, they want to change the definition of marriage. I've brought this up before, but I think when the electorate is ready to make polygamy legal, then same sex marriage will be readily accepted. Should students be allowed to use audibles?
sundevil777 replied to lewmonst's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
It depends on the type of liner (the liners from para-gear are good). My protrack fits perfectly in my protec, just enough interference with the foam to hold it well. Having an audible scream at a student that is not saving their own butt cannot be a bad thing, in my opinion. I think the procedure taught was to use 2 hands on each handle. I believe it would be pretty hard to beat the RSL with that technique, although they admitted to having their hand on it and not pulling. When I had about 20 jumps, I was told that the rental canopy I would be using was packed wet, but not to worry, it was only last week. I used it because I wanted so much to use a rig with the reserve on the back, instead of gut-gear. It was a para-commander, and worked OK, but sure didn't inspire confidence. Ex-Lawmaker Says He Helped Bush Avoid Vietnam
sundevil777 replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in Speakers Corner
True, but he did, however, write about his opinion of the military. I think many were right to take offense at his characterization. So he still avoided the draft. Nothing illegal has been done (despite claims of 'connections' that are not illegal) by the Repubs, the chairman of the Fed Election Commission has been interviewed by Brit Hume, and he concurs. edit to add the link, so you can stop presuming to know what is illegal: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,130046,00.html However, the Dems have admitted wrongdoing. I guess you missed this part from the Washington times article I posted about the DNC admitting their 'partnering' with MoveOn.org. edit- I apologize for the personal attack. I will use gentler language in the future. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. You lied about the the attacks coming from the same groups, so by your logic, nobody should respond to you, but I will because I don't agree with your logic. http://insider.washingtontimes.com/blog/2004_08_24_archive.php#109337353971627806 Kerry's malleable 'facts' In presidential campaigns, even facts are malleable. Take, for instance, the swift boat story swirling around John Kerry. The saga comes complete with hundreds of facts -- official medal citations, eyewitness accounts, contemporaneous journals. But none of these have led to "the truth." In fact, each has only muddied the murky Mekong Delta water and what happened there some 30 years ago. Major newspapers have unsuccessfully attempted to separate the chaff from the wheat. The Washington Post, for example, headlined its expansive Sunday story: "Swift Boat Accounts Incomplete." Not too helpful for those trying to sort through the mess. The liberal media have fanned out to disprove Kerry's irate comrades and have targeted the financiers of the group (although the media gave other 527s a pass, including MoveOn.org, The Media Fund and ACT, which have spent $63 million to accuse the president of the United States of lying, condoning torture and poisoning pregnant women). As they rail at President Bush over a nonexistent connection between his campaign and Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, the media ignore the Democratic National Committee's explicit connection with MoveOn.org (the DNC said on its website on May 9, 2003, that "The Democratic Party is partnering with MoveOn.org" and other groups). But while the facts are elusive, one thing is sure: The legs on the swift boat story keep growing. And some facts are emerging. Kerry's camp now says the candidate was not in Cambodia on Christmas 1968 as he has repeatedly claimed (apparently the memory was incorrectly "seared" into Kerry's brain). His own journal includes a lament about coming close to the Cambodian border on his final mission, saying it is "always making one wonder what lay on the other side." Guess he never saw the other side -- or he forgot to write it down when he finally did. Now Kerry's campaign says it is possible the candidate's first Purple Heart was "awarded for unintentional self-inflicted wound," as Matt Drudge reports. Just as Vice President Al Gore was undone by his exaggerations (he claimed to have invented the Internet and that his dog's arthritis medicine cost more than his mother in law's prescription, both of which proved to be false), Mr. Kerry's credibility is on the line. While Mr. Kerry wants to hammer Mr. Bush over the controversial war in Iraq, this election could well be decided by controversy over service in the Vietnam War. And that's a fact. -- Joseph Curl, White House correspondent Also: http://washingtontimes.com/national/20040819-123903-5094r.htm People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. Thank you for clarifying the fact that it is not the same group, and that dems attack a group of decorated war vets as puppets. Kerry's won't answer the charges from the SBVFT because he would have to admit he lied (even more than he has already had to admit he lied about his viet service). Instead he wants you to accept that all you need to know is who funded them. Very weak position for someone who's actions were deserving of such medals. Sounds like an unsubstantiated charge that doesn't get challenged. I don't remember the 'attack' on Max Cleland, but his rant when he delivered the letter on behalf of the Kerry campaign a few days ago qualifies him and Kerry as pieces of shit. Kerry should be pressured to apologize and denounce what Max Cleland said. You are weird! The song after don't fear the reaper (ETI) is the one that should have gotten more airtime. The Vigil from the mirrors album is a favorite also. Not just one, but 2 or 3 pairs of heavy denim shorts will help a lot. Don't bother with padded bicycle shorts, padding is in the wrong place. Actually, Kerry said it TWICE, seered - seered. Like putting the back of your hand on a grill, taking it off, and then doing it again! And even though he was so double-branded, he still doesn't remember the events correctly. Or, he is intentionally not telling the truth. So, why didn't he support the Iraq war? Is it because we only had 30 or so countries on our side, but not France and Germany? Bush is accused of rushing into war, but you say Gore would have been there sooner. Wouldn't that mean giving the inspectors even less to "do their job"? Hi Jamie, Did you hear the crap that came out of Max's mouth during his deliver the letter stunt? He said (as well as I can remember) that an attack on one veteran is an attack on all. Kerry certainly did then attack all veterans in 1971 didn't he? He also claimed that Bush was responsible (his words were much more forceful) for the SBVFT ads. I don't care if he was a POW and the N. Vietnamese cut his limbs off, he is a despicable ass. Kerry should be pressured to apologize and denounce what Max said on his behalf. In my opinion, you should be banned for that personal attack. However, it is good to see Kerry supporters falling apart, when they know he can't defend himself. So, if you served and got medals, nobody can call into question the validity of the claimed heroism? Kerry should easily be able to defend his service. It is another opportunity for him to brag about his heroism. Instead, just knowing where his opponents get their funding is supposed to be enough. I think not.
