Need a Photo of a Hanging Exit from Cessna

Hey Evan, do you have a high res copy of that? My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto -
Number 1 and 3 are pretty good. Sybex always has good stuff. You do need to know quite a bit more than just subnetting and the 7 layers of the OSI model though This is what is involved in the test. Just know the material, get some hands on with a real router or 2 if possible. The Simulator will work and probably work better only because you have to know the commands in full. On a real router, you can just hit tab or ? to see what's next. (you probably know that already though) Often you can retrieve router applications from a file sharing network if you're into that sort of thing. Opening riser covers for hop-n-pops
hookitt replied to LearningTOfly's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I keep mine closed. They work fine under subterminal conditions. billvon's scenario is quite valid as well. When the main container is open, The riser covers don't have the same holding power. (assuming they hold tight in the first place). My Infinity and my Eclipse riser covers hold really well when the main container is closed, and release just fine once it's open. Is the canopy on Type 8 risers or type 17?. Type 8 are the 1 3/4 inch wide risers Type 17 are 1 inch wide risers. Have you ever heard of Vet Wrap? Vet Wrap is used to wrap human and animal (especially horses) joints such as ankles and knees. You can find it at most feed stores. It's actually 3M Coban medical wrap but usually you'll find the stuff at the tack shop to be cheaper. CRW Dogs have been known to wrap the front risers to give the riser more mass to grab onto. I haven't tried in on rears but it may work if you concentrate the wrap at the top of the riser and over the Rapid link and slider bumper. If the brakeline drags across it, it really should be no big deal. It sticks to itself and can be taken off and won't leave any residue. It's a temporary solution or at least something worth trying. People have died from control line malfunctions and that very thought was in my mind when it happened to me. There were 2 options and that choosing one needed to happen quickly. When I first bought my Xaos, the brake lines were HMA. The toggles that were on my risers were a little softer than they should have been and not the toggles I normally use. I was in the saddle well above 2,500 feet. I stowed the slider grabbed the toggles, one released, one didn't. I held the opposite toggle down and very aggressively attempted to clear it and ran out of time. Releasing the toggle and pulling the cutaway handle happened at the same time. Landing with the brakes stowed on a canopy with a fairly high wing load requires precision control and a good PLF and some luck. The canopy will stall very easily. If you want to ask the same question about why didn't I take a wrap and land on rears, now's the time. I could see doing it, but the ground was dry and very hard, the controllability was edgy, and taking a wrap with HMA lines doesn't feel very good. The decision was easy. I tried very hard to clear a malfunction on a canopy that did not pass the control check, reached my cutaway decision altitude and did just that. You see, that's not the problem with Lutz. The ripcord set up and the old training method of Arch - Look - Reach - Pull, is just asking a student to cutaway first. Don't look at something unless you want to pull it. The ripcord was on the hip, and the cutaway is in plane view. Lutz became a verb because of everything he did after that moment. NICE!!! I just went to the local skate park for the first time in .. .well, it's been a long time. The bowl was fairly decent and there is even some vertical. Let's just say I'm not quite ready to bust out a rock-n-roll slides and front side air just yet. The kids were pretty cool but probably made fun of me behind my back. 2 kids told me about a couple other parks and since I'm old enough to drive ... I'll probably go check them out pretty soon. Better yet, an experienced freeflyer who is an experienced rigger. If it's a Vector II sized for those canopies... it is definately not freefly friendly. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto

Yep. Same here, although I'm finishing up some Maranatha organic peanut butter right now. All the ones listed above have more high fructose corn syrup in them than anything else. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto

Like eating tacks? -------- The desired result is to have both people flying under one parachute. Usually, the jumper that's holding on will let go after a while, freefall for a bit and open his own canopy. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto

Chances are you did actually let the slider down the lines while putting it into the bag. It simply takes practice figuring out how to do it correctly every time. This is not a slam so please don't take as such. Your profile suggests that you have less than 60 jumps so it stands to reason you probably have less pack jobs correct? Learning to control the material takes some time. Something to think about is when you do the first s fold, be sure you keep the slider up all the way. After it's in the bag, and before you close the bag, is the last time you can verify the slider is where it's supposed to be. Make sense? Just an FYI: Even if your rubber bands did break on the locking stows, it’s unlikely the weight of the parachute pushed the bands to a point of breaking them. Yanking the lines out of a double stowed rubber band with the weight of the canopy against the grommets is what does that. An occasional slammer is almost always letting the slider just a tiny bit down the lines. There are a few other reasons but they're difficult to describe. It has to do with risers releasing from the tray or pushing tabs open at different times. Do you watch your pilot chute as you throw it? If you do watch, stop doing that. Just toss the pilot chute (not like a hand grenade either) and get back into a symmetrical body position and wait and don’t help the canopy open. Let it do its thing and be prepared to steer it once it’s finished. Hope that helps, My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
