Not really. There's nothing to prevent you from posting on any of these topics in rec.skydiving. It's just that over here we've taken rec.skydiving and broken it up into relevant forums, removed some of the noise around the topical boards to facilitate constructive discussion and added a very limited number of local rules that will foster a community that you'd actually "want" to belong to. (a basic need) Just a few local rules, gives you global order (for free!) in a community that's probably constantly moving towards the edge of chaos - where all complex systems (like communities) have the most potential and is loaded with immanent creativity. Whalaa! Complexity Theory at work!

So little patience. We've tried to keep the T-Shirt in line with Dropzone.com's "brand". The look and feel is clean and open. Not a lot of big graphics and no flash! The main purpose of the T is to enable us to recognize each other at the DZ, but you should be able to wear this on and away from the DZ. We are still looking at variations on the design, but it'll be based on what you see here. ==> see attachment We're still deciding whether a slogan should be included. (see just under the logo) So feel free to throw out a few. In fact, if your slogan gets chosen there's a free T in it for you! Depending on whether all this noise actually translates into sales, we'll look into more designs later. Ok, let rip with your thoughts!

Actually, it's just a small percentage of articles that goes on the front page that ends up in the Columns. If you want to see some more of them, go check the News page. You'll see the 7 latest news articles in each news category. Look at the number next to each category headline... that tells you how many articles are in each category. Click on the headline and they'll all come up! But wait that's not all, if you order now you also get some more of the headline stories on the Dropzone Gear page! Right at the bottom is a list of recent Gear articles and again it shows the number of articles next to the headline... just click on it.... But wait, that's not all, you also get some nice Interviews and a some special articles on the home page in a section called Up Front... Guess you should browse the site a bit, there are things in here you can not even imagine...hehehehe! Safe swoops Sangiro PS. I'm not showing off.... I'm the nut who put it all there!

Terry, Warning in advance. This is not rec.skydiving. These are moderated forums, which means if you make claims about any DZ you better substantiate it. We're all aware about your issues with Roger and SDC. Because you seldom pass up on an opportunity to bash him on rec.skydiving your opinions on that DZ in this forum will carry little if any weight. It's simply too one-sided, unbalanced and obviously bias. I will simply not tolerate any of that over here. Substantiate your claims or keep quiet. If you don't like that... there's always rec.skydiving where people don't really care too much about the accuracy of information. Cheers! Safe swoops Sangiro

Couldn't disagree more with this comment. The "in crowd" is who you perceive them to be. There are hundreds of posters on these boards who never gets chastised, simply because they always, even when in disagreement, show respect to others. It's not difficult to do a quick search, look at what people have been contributing in the past and figure out who the common denominators are in a lot of the threads that goes south. You're right, in forums like these people can only "know" the version of "you" that you present to them. So why do you think your comment above is true? Is there a plot against you, or do you think you may have been presenting a version of "you" that makes people react like that? Richard, you're not a victim. Safe swoops Sangiro

That's a good catch! The old pages that you are seeing are actually static pages that the script built back somewhere in last year.... you should never see them. The script set has the option to either build static HTML pages (like the Dropzone Database) or dynamically generate the pages from the database. This is what the Classifieds is supposed to do. I'll fix the link that points to the static pages because those are simply not being built frequently. The Dropzone Database on the other hand has an automated process that builds the static pages every night. Safe swoops Sangiro
