Or put a 180 twist in the risers, and hold it with one hand with the toggles in the other. ----------------------------------- It's like something out of that twilighty show about that zone

Number of Jumps vs. pre-second visit to different DZ
Sonic replied to ladyskydiver's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
About 30 I think - I was still a student doing RAPS and due to bad weather, not jumping, andwanting to see friends at a different DZ, I went and got my cat8 there instead. ----------------------------------- It's like something out of that twilighty show about that zone -
Yup - I did type something completly different along the lines of how how taper affects speed, but then realsied I misread the question. oops. ----------------------------------- It's like something out of that twilighty show about that zone

Hi, I'm Alex and I'm a ALTI-holic (although beer is always good) ----------------------------------- It's like something out of that twilighty show about that zone

It's both, although I think wingloading is the major factor here. I'm sure one of the more experienced people will be able to explain it better than I can. ----------------------------------- It's like something out of that twilighty show about that zone

Remember that the handle is sewn straight onto the pilot chute on a throwaway rig, whereas on a pull out it is quite a distance away. It's for this reason pull out is not a good idea. ----------------------------------- It's like something out of that twilighty show about that zone

Cheers !! for those too lazy to click ...... My wife Joy and I have now received the BASE number lists from Jean Boenish and we are issuing the numbers for BASE, Night BASE, and El Cap. You need to send us a real letter listing your 4 qualifying objects and the dates and times of each, especially the last one. If your qualifying jump is less than 4 weeks old, we will wait until it is about that old and issue you a number. We wait just to make sure someone didn't beat you by a few days but is slower in getting the information to us. We ask for a $10. donation (not mandatory), and a self addressed stamped envelope if all you want is a paper card and the number. If you want a plastic credit card sized official card, it is a required fee of $5.00. Send the stuff to Rick and Joy Harrison 7316 Houston Drive Hitchcock, TX. 77563 If your qualifying jump is over 4 weeks old when we get your info, we will send you your number within 2 to 3 days. GOOD LUCK Rick Harrison Night Base 13 ----------------------------------- It's like something out of that twilighty show about that zone

Why do so many people put a 2nd "s" on the end of CyPReS? ----------------------------------- It's like something out of that twilighty show about that zone

I don't have a PCSS number for nothing . I've given up the knowledge that I can get cash from an atm, having the abilty to get a bike. But I've gained more than I would have by not jumping at all. ----------------------------------- It's like something out of that twilighty show about that zone

Just wondering - how do you get a BASE number? Is it one jump of each object, or is it more? Where do you apply for it? ----------------------------------- It's like something out of that twilighty show about that zone

Yes the Astra is an AAD, made by FXC. Works on the same principle as a cypres, although there is no student version. ----------------------------------- It's like something out of that twilighty show about that zone

Having said that, I've found the people at our dz tend to be more friendly than at larger turbine dz's. While although I'd love to see a turbine at my dz, I'd still rather go to this one because of the people. A dz is much more than it's aircraft. ----------------------------------- It's like something out of that twilighty show about that zone
