Impact of skydiving on your regular life
suz replied to Mad47's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Skydiving has certainly changed my life. Apart from feeling like a rockstar whenever you mention that your a skydiver to whuffo's ....**goes off into a dreamstate...** What was I saying again??? Oh yeah... Just my entire outlook on life has changed. If I want something, I dont sit on my sweet arse now and dream about having it. I go out there and I try my hardest to get it. I've also found myself alot calmer then I used to be. I dont road rage as much anymore, I dont cry whenever I spill the milk...I dont apologise if I fart in the elevator...not that I do! Apart from being absolutely broke. I'm always planning my next mission to get thee to the dz! Don't bother me, I'm living happily ever after -
I totally agree with you. Don't bother me, I'm living happily ever after

I've been jumping for a year now. I still have all my friends. My dropzone is two hours away, I only really get a chance to go there once or twice a month. I suppose if you ask me in a few more years time, the situation will change. But that's life, I would be rather disapointed with myself if I didnt make any new friends over the next 60+ years that I'll (hopefully) be alive.

A little old lady answered a knock on the door one day, only to be confronted by a well-dressed young man carrying a vacuum cleaner. "Good morning," said the young man. "If I could take a couple of minutes of your time, I would like to demonstrate the very latest in high-powered vacuum cleaners. "Go away!" said the old lady. "I haven't got any money!" and she proceeded to close the door. Quick as a flash, the young man wedged his foot in the door and pushed it wide open. "Don't be too hasty!" he said. "Not until you have at least seen my demonstration." And with that, he emptied a bucket of horse manure onto her hallway carpet. "If this vacuum cleaner does not remove all traces of this horse manure from your carpet, Madam, I will personally eat the remainder." The old lady stepped back and said, "Well I hope you've got a really good appetite, because they cut off my electricity this morning..." Don't bother me, I'm living happily ever after

Situations/circumstances that really make you uncomfortable
suz replied to Muenkel's topic in The Bonfire
I'm really uncomfortable meeting people for the first time, I get a really tight feeling in my chest and just wanna run away. I'm frightened that they're standing there judging me. Also, I find it really hard to take compliments from men/women regarding my appearance. I never think that they're genuine and just bluff off the compliment. Considering that it's only been two hours. I havent been able to do sit ups, or run a million miles, or guzzled down endless amounts of water. Can I let you know by tonight? Don't bother me, I'm living happily ever after

Should the elderly be required to take yearly driving test?
suz replied to AggieDave's topic in The Bonfire
I voted no. Only because I feel it is discrimination towards the elderly. I feel that whenever you renew your licence, you should take a driving test. It's alot fairer that way. But I do agree that the elderly can be a bit concerning on our roads. When I use to work as a chicken girl, this little old man used to come and buy four chicken dinners every Tuesday. He'd travelled all the way from his aged care nursing home to collect lunch for himself and three other residents. I'd be watching him, and it'd take him 10 minutes to get from his car to the front counter, where I was standing...His car was parked right in front of the shop window...roughly 10 metres away He'd shuffle his way to the door, stop for a breather, and then soldiered on again. Then collect his lunches, shuffle his way back to his car and drive off doing no more then 20kph. Don't bother me, I'm living happily ever after -

Worse....when a tractor pulls out on the road in front of you, the speedlimit is supposed to be 100kph...and there is absolutely no traffic behind you! Don't bother me, I'm living happily ever after -

Well it's Wednesday, mid afternoon. I've come home from work in tears. I hate my job soooo much. I am currently looking at the Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE website for courses to do. Although I have no idea what I want to study. I'm fed up working in crappy jobs, with crappy people screaming at me for crappy reasons! Don't bother me, I'm living happily ever after
