My dz.com inbox was getting so much spam every day that I finally gave up and just let it fill up. I think it took a week. And then a couple weeks ago, I decided to delete it all and see how long it would take to fill up again. Surprisingly, it's much slower this time; only 13 in two weeks. And no, I didn't get the locals who just want sex, but I did get "Want to find a fuckbuddy?" I've also been offered a free equity report, dirt on my employer, and "shane's cool info." And wait, what's this?? Oh my god! Haha, yup, this is pretty much standard, and only a 300-level class! I've taken Phonetics, which is maybe easier in a way, but of course presents entirely different challenges. And Phonetics isn't required for a Linguistics BA (which is the degree I'm going for), but Phonology is. Phonological analyses can actually be pretty fun--they're sort of like word puzzles. You'll do some basic ones (or you should!) in your intro class, and see what I mean. This one was just a bit complicated, and I was getting frustrated with it. Hey, at least you know you can come to me for help if you need it!

Wow, left the computer for a bit to go work on the problem some more, and came back to all sorts of different PMs!!! I'm making some headway! For those of you who've PMed me and know what I'm talking about, I think I've identified all the underlying representations. I wish the word "healthy" was included in the data, because I have that noun morpheme (the /te/ in "goodness"), but am wondering what the UR is for "healthy". Technically, part of it was French, and part of it was IPA (the International Phonetic Alphabet). But that was in the attachment.
