  1. I just spent an hour on marathonguide.com yesterday trying to decide on my next marathon. It would be fun to get a group together!
  2. No, then they'd know she'd already met enough locals who just want sex. -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become.
  3. My dz.com inbox was getting so much spam every day that I finally gave up and just let it fill up. I think it took a week. And then a couple weeks ago, I decided to delete it all and see how long it would take to fill up again. Surprisingly, it's much slower this time; only 13 in two weeks. And no, I didn't get the locals who just want sex, but I did get "Want to find a fuckbuddy?" I've also been offered a free equity report, dirt on my employer, and "shane's cool info." And wait, what's this?? Oh my god! I've won a FREE iPod!!! -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become.
  4. Wonder what kind of canopies are inside. I can't get much from this: -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become.
  5. Haha, yup, this is pretty much standard, and only a 300-level class! I've taken Phonetics, which is maybe easier in a way, but of course presents entirely different challenges. And Phonetics isn't required for a Linguistics BA (which is the degree I'm going for), but Phonology is. Phonological analyses can actually be pretty fun--they're sort of like word puzzles. You'll do some basic ones (or you should!) in your intro class, and see what I mean. This one was just a bit complicated, and I was getting frustrated with it. Hey, at least you know you can come to me for help if you need it!
  6. Thanks for the support. It's not perfect, but at least I've got something done. Here's what I came up with, for those of you who PMed me with advice. Attachment NSFPWDWTHAA (Not Safe For People Who Don't Want To Have An Aneurysm). -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become.
  7. If you really want to talk phonetics/phonology, come visit me on my thread. I'd LOVE to have your input!
  8. Does that mean you're a magnet for psycho chicks, or a chick magnet that's psycho? Neeeeed to stop posting. Brain melting. -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become.
  9. Was wondering when someone would catch onto my loophole. You're smarter than you look, Wingi. And I mean that in the nicest possible way. I swear. Almost done with the problem. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming... -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become.
  10. If we have to, then so does everyone else. It is international after all. That's the beauty of it.
-Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become.
  12. In post 31 of this thread, he make obvious reference to being a duck expert. To the thought provoking inquiry, "If it quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck? What if it's not?" Bill confidently replies, "Then it's not a duck." And ducks are clearly duck experts. -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become.
  13. Y'know, the first line sorta sounds like, "Rosa houses all bearing down on me..." How appropriate! -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become.
  14. All these things into position--all these things we'll one day swallow whole. -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become.
  15. Cracked eggs, dead birds scream as they fight for life. -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become.
  16. Wow, left the computer for a bit to go work on the problem some more, and came back to all sorts of different PMs!!! I'm making some headway! For those of you who've PMed me and know what I'm talking about, I think I've identified all the underlying representations. I wish the word "healthy" was included in the data, because I have that noun morpheme (the /te/ in "goodness"), but am wondering what the UR is for "healthy". Will post again if (or rather when) I get confused. -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become.
  17. Hey, at least you made it past "concatenated". -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become.
  18. Technically, part of it was French, and part of it was IPA (the International Phonetic Alphabet). But that was in the attachment. And Lawrocket, you present an interesting case, but ccowden already admitted to me via PM that he couldn't even fake knowing what he was talking about. -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become.
  19. Upon swedishcelt's suggestion, I'm posting the problem. Data attached. -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become.
  20. Lolie

    I'm bored.

I will, but only if you help me with my homework first. -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become.
  21. Phonology. -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become.
  22. I thought I could breeze through this linguistics assignment, but after really reading it, I've realized that I don't even really understand the question, much less the answer. If anyone knows anything about generative grammar and phonological analyses, PM me. I will be eternally grateful. I'll buy you a jump. I'll send you naked pictures. -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become.
  23. I seem to remember Omri sending me a picture of his upside-down Christmas tree a couple years ago. Maybe if he ever posted anymore he could confirm this. -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become.
  24. I think he could use more of a challenge. -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become.
