I didn't know Nate, but from the sounds of it he was a great person and well loved. I am sure he knows this, he is lucky to have so many people care about him. I will be sending PM's to my friends tonight... -

Did you expect sympathy or something? -
4th of July last year I was setting off mortors and on the sixth one, the bottom blew off of the tube. I was standing only about 6 feet away. It took me a moment to figure out what happened, it was so dark. Something about the launch just didn't look or sound right. Then I see the mortor with it's quickly diminishing fuse sitting infront of me. I had a couple friends behind me, I looked over my shoulder and as loud as I possibly could I yelled "RUUUUNNNNNNN!!!!!!", took off running down the muddy field of harvested corn stalks and lost a shoe. We were being chased by shards of white light and thick smoke. Luckily none of us were harmed in any way. That was by far my most favorite 4th of july ever

Is there some kind of flame retardant spray you could use on the chute and lines?, also, you could seal the hold in the middle with aluminum foil or something to keep the flame from going through the potato

That is not cool at all, and I too would expect more of a skydiver It just proves that people are afraid of what they don't know/understand. That applies to us skydivers too unfortunatly
-
Damn man that's no good. Hope they can fix whatever is wrong in short order, wouldn't want to get uncurrent Best of luck brotha

I had a dream a couple nights ago that I was the Prince of a long ago murdered king (don't ask me why I was still a prince...). The killer was a chinese emperor guy named Chin Yee (lol) I made my way to this guys palace to confront him. As I entered the palace, a couple guards escorted me down a path. They showed me a pond with a slide where the emperor swam. We came upon what looked like a barn type area. Dirt and straw made the floor, and Chin Yee stood in the center of the room. I walked up to him and spoke about my father, words were exchanged and then he started choking me. A moment later, two of my friends walked in, he set me down. I went to talk to them, then came back to the guy. He held his hand out and said, "Continue choking yourself". I said no so we were made prisoners. Some time passed, and we were being led down this path on some horses, and we made our way up to this plateau. Ditched the horses and walked a ledge about half a foot wide, it dropped down a couple thousand feet on our left, funny thing is, on our right, about a foot up was the top of the plateau...So anyway we're sidestepping across this ledge, and we come to a 90 degree angle. The ground shifts like those little mozaic puzzles that are missing the one square and my foot gets pushed. I lose my balance and my 2 friends try to hold on to me. I pull them off the cliff with me, but I do my best to throw them back at the ledge so they can save themselves. They both get a hold of the ledge, and the girl is able to hold on to me with one hand. I know she can't hold on for long, so I let go of her and start falling. That's when I woke up.

This job kicks my last jobs ass Basically I sit around in IT and Ghost a computer or two (copy a basic image onto multiple computers so I don't have to go through the install process on everything) and talk with the other temp guy. Eventually we'll be moving the new computers that are coming in, into peoples workstations. That's where it'll start to actually resemble a job, having to deal with all the "customers" that want me to explain exactly what I'm doing step by step. This is gonna make for a great summer job
-
Hey now, watch it , that's how they had it spelled on the paper work. And I let them know too The good thing is that last two jumps were in May so I'm not all that uncurrent yet
-
I know, I need to budget wisely, especially if I plan on moving into a place of my own this summer
-
To be employed again I start on monday as a "Computer Speciallist" (suckers!). Been unemployed since March and I've only made 2 jumps since last October , I can't wait to get back to work, and get back to the DZ
-
So...what if you are getting a 'bad feeling' about your next jump?
Casch replied to Blindpost's topic in The Bonfire
If it's just a bad feeling, no reason for it. I ignore it, it's nothing. But if the jump is introducing something new, I don't feel entirely comfortable with who I'm jumping with, or I'm uneasy about my gear I will do what I need to make myself feel more comfortable. If I can't, I may or may not jump. It just depends. I don't buy into all that superstition crap (no offense to those that do), if I am prepared for a jump, and remember my training, there is no mystical outside force that is going to cause problems for me. -
Is anyone else here Ambioptical (I have no idea if that is the proper term), I don't have a dominant eye, I've tried every friggin test known to man, and they don't work.
-
I was just thinking about how even though we can be left or right handed, there are some things we always do with our non-dominant hands. For instance I'm right handed, I just opened a can of soda with my right hand and it felt really really awkward. I usually open them with my left, but I had fresh spray paint on my hand and didn't want to get it on the rim of the can. I also peel bananas with my non-dominant hand. So what are some other things you do with your non-dominant hand? Oh, and try to keep this thread rated PG Just kiddin

I haven't had any money since may. I've been stuck at home with nothing to do for far too long. Anyone wanna give me a job? lol. I can't even go to the dz to hang out, cause I have no gas and the nearest DZ is an hour and a half away This sucks

I picked up the guitar in January, bought myself a Schecter Omen-6, and I have just been using my computer as an effects processor and amp (I have nice comp speakers). It's been a great little guitar and I'm having a blast with it

Well, after spending all day trying to get Gentoo running, and getting so close but not quite there, I decided to opt for Mandrake. Easiest OS I've ever installed. This'll keep me occupied for a while
-
I've never used any linux distro's, but I want to learn. I just read about as much info as my mind can take in tonight about unix, linux and I read a bunch about Gentoo. So far gentoo looks like a pretty good option. Is it? lol... I do some mild gaming, Counter-Strike, Diablo, UT. Use MSN messenger quite a bit, dunno if I would be able to do that with gentoo. I also do some (extremely) mild photo editing. What distro should I use??

1: Face (eyes and smile), I have a fetish, for lack of a better word, for eyes. And if I see a girl with beautiful eyes, it's tough for me to not look into them 2: Mid-section. the whole area between the waist and the neck. There's nothin like a beautifully curved figure in the art world in my oppinion. I don't care about breast size, as long as they fit the girls size and figure. And they generally do. 3: Ass, a nice, strong, firm ass. Mmmmm...gotta go now

My mom lives about 6 hours away in WA and I'm in Oregon. I see her every few months but I could go my whole life without seeing her again. I'm not a big fan of her. My dad however, I live with him. Moving out this summer and I'll still be spending most of my time at his place. I don't think a father and son could have a better relationship than the one mine and I have. He's more like a roomate than a father

I think that's an excellent punishment! Good for the parents. But it would be wise to fix all the grammatical errors in that story before claiming to be smarter than the child. I know obviously the parents are, but come on, I've known 12 year olds that could write with much more quality.
