Ok. Here's my Craigslist ad. How's it work? "Hot young skydiver, into S&M, bondage and watersports, seeks bi guys and girls for total dominance. No weirdos!" Watersports was a nice touch. Though you may lose a big chunk of your target crowd by posting the no weirdos. Might want to leave that one out. Otherwise, great ad! What is the point of life, if you don't live it? Yes, you are right. I am over thinking it. The army's made me over analyze things a bit too much. Its a bad habit of mine. After I posted this, my friend kind of chewed me out for the same thing-he told me to stop thinking about it, listen to my instructors, arch, relax, and smile (he skydives, so he knew I'd get a kick out of that comment). Skydiving is my greatest stress reliever, so I get irritated with myself when-for example, I dont finish my flair, or I kick my legs out on accident. All is well though, its part of the learning experience. I look forward to my next jump with you guys. What is the point of life, if you don't live it? I was talking to my friend this evening and he said the same thing-relax. That hasn't really been an issue for me up until now, i think it was just my excitement and the fact that they let go of me this jump that I was a little more tense than normal. As far as me not having jumped out of airplanes, it wasn't that-I am in the army with many static line jumps. So the thought of me jumping from a perfectly good airplane isn't that new to me. I think it was just me being a little nervous about them letting go. I appreciate the advice. I definitely need to work on my legs. Now that I have had some time to really go over the jump in my head, I think that was a factor in it as well. Leg position and relax. -
Jumped Cat-C1 Today

About a month ago, I started skydiving. I had been hanging around the DZ with a friend who jumps, but my budget wasn't allowing me to at the time. I finally got my affairs in order and started my AFF classes. 1st 2 jumps went well. (Though I lost my shoe on my first jump) But than the weather went bad and I couldn't jump for a few weeks. Well today the weather was nice and I had the day off, so I hit up the wind tunnel this morning for some much needed practice (since I was going to do my Cat C, I figured I should work on my body position as much as possible before I went up). I felt that helped a lot on my jump today. My exit wasn't that great-I kind of launched myself out the door. But over all it went well. I had a bit of in issue with wobbling/osculating in free fall (my instructor called it chipping?). It wasn't bad, but it sure was annoying. Was wondering how I can prevent that? I was able to stop it after a bit, but I have no idea how I was able to do that. All-in-all, it was a good jump and I was cleared to cat c2. I just cant get enough of it! Hopefully the weather holds out for a bit longer this year. What is the point of life, if you don't live it? To escape fear, you have to go through it, not around. -
I only have a few jumps, but I am a frequent static line jumper in the army (I know it isnt the same, but it helps a little). For me, the anxiety went away after a few jumps. You'll get used to it and you might start to enjoy it. What helped me, was figuring out exactly what it was that I was nervous about. Than once I had that part figured out, I reassured myself that it was ok. Door anxiety is normal, I am sure it will pass with some time. For me, it was the fact that I was TERRIFIED of heights (strange profession and hobby, I know). Once I figured out that was what I was most nervous about, I just made an effort to remember that I have a parachute on my back. So even if I DO fall out prematurely, I will still be perfectly fine. Its what worked for me, but everybody is different. Sounds like you have great instructors, so lean on them for advice. Hope to see you in the sky one day my friend.

Fantastic, thank you. I will probably going to Dallas fairly often. I will certainly make sure to stop by for some jumps. What is the point of life, if you don't live it? To escape fear, you have to go through it, not around. -

I am currently on active duty in the military (NC). In December, I am getting out and moving home to Texas. I was wondering where is the closest DZ's. And of those, which one should I choose for my home DZ? With that said, I will eventually visit all of them, for the experience and to meet new people. I looked online and there was a "skydive Waco" that I found, but when I checked out the DZ's, I didnt see it anywhere. I even sent them an email, but got no response back. Also, what are your favorite DZ's in Texas? I would like to travel and find new places to jump eventually. What is the point of life, if you don't live it? Whats up folks, Im new to the sport-working on getting my A license. Jumping every weekend that the weather allows me too. A friend of mine got me into it a few months ago, and I just cant stop. It sure is the greatest feeling in the world. My home DZ is Raeford NC. Im active duty military (82nd out of Fort Bragg). I have been wanting to do this for a while, but was never the right timing. Now it is all I want to do. I wake up everyday that and check the weather to see if its going to be nice enough to jump that day. My friend turned me onto this site, and I hope to learn from the experienced jumpers on here to improve my skill level, as well as hopefully meet some new friends.
