  1. Tunnel is always good for the freefall portion of the skydive, if you rack 1hr of tunnel time now you're good until you start freeflying... It's not like the tunnel looses it's purpose once you nail stable belly-to-earth...
  2. Exactly, when working with asian suppliers YOU need to have very strict quality control protocols that include and are not limited to testing every single batch and having periodic on-site inspections... Besides those issues you can source very high quality parts from asia but they end up costing almost as much as locally produced parts....
  3. Depending on your own abilities 2hours may or may not be enough to make it to sit-flying but dont worry about it. You will learn a lot about flying your body anyway...
  4. Balloons usually ascend much faster than small planes, about 10 minutes to +1500m or so...
  5. Not an issue... Jump height depends most often on weather, can be as low as 800m up to 3-4km...
  6. I'm having a hard time figuring out how someone can mess up closing of the container that bad...
  7. In most cases, with bigger planes the jump run will be descending to reduce the risk of tail strike and they also turn down the power to make climbing out easier.
  8. Just a few things from your video -Your slider is not pulled down (and your chest strap is probaply tight) -toggle input right after turn, that's a big no-no -stay on your fronts longer before the turn (3secs)? -Your turn looked more like 45' than 90', use risers instead of harness? I love when someone with 243 jumps is giving swoop advice to someone with 250 jumps, online too. LOL Not bad advice but funny. Dont worry, I'm just repeating the same things my coaches have taught me...
  9. If you dont pull down the slider then loosening the chest strap does (almost) nothing...

  11. It's best to do a high altitude hop'n'pop and use the canopy time to find your stall points on toggles AND rears. You really dont want to find those stall points by accident when near the ground...
  12. I got one of these mounts printed already... fits into go-pro baseplate and works for as20 up to as1000...
  13. You can swoop any canopy (well, within a reason). I'm loading my 170 at bit under 1.1 and I can do real nice straight-ins with fronts and currently am working on 90's. So yeah, it's not about your canopy... The argument that you should become a good swooper before you downsize is a really sensible becouse a big, less loaded canopy is alot more forgiving when (notice, not if but when) you screw up. If you first get a small canopy and then start dabling in the realm of swooping, chances of getting hospitalized increase exponentially. Obviously I'm basing all this on the fact that you wish to go faster under a canopy and easiest way to go fast under a canopy is to learn front risers and stuff...
  14. Learn to use the front risers for induced speed landings and think about downsizing once you can rock out 270's with ease and comfort. There is no point in upping your wingload if you're already in the 1.2-1.3 range before you have a lot of experience and really want to push the swooping...
  15. Skywide systems (SWS) has a pretty nice riser set-up and they also come with good toggles...
  16. My optima II does sound louder than my protrack, but then again I have no problems hearing either one in freefall... Maybe time to check your helmet too?
  17. Good call on sunglasses/goggles, Personally this is the reason why I only use sunglasses that are optically flawless, cheapo brands and even some better brands mess up my depth perception real bad and I can easily imagine what it might do ones landings...
  18. I fly a magellan 170 myself and I like it a lot. Has great range and swoops pretty decent too. Compared to sabre 2 it is pretty similar, maybe slightly steeper trim. Easy on rears and not too bad on fronts... No idea about pack volume but I expect about the same as sabre 2 or alike. One interesting fact is that you can get either 140 or 130 size magellan. Oh, it's also way cheaper than sabre 2 so you dont have feel bad about dropping a size or two after a season.
  19. You just need to get your wing to flare (first part of the 2-stage flare) and then let it bleed the speed as it flies level and finish off with a strong flare that uses all of the brakes... Also, better stay off the fronts until you can land real nice without them in any weather...
  20. When doing HnP's you should go for straight exit instead of diving exit becouse the latter is much more unstable and you loose more altitude (For fun jumps diving exit is totally cool and extremely fun at times)
  21. Sounds like you get a bit too anxious becouse of the lack of height and then miss the exit, nothing new there. Relax, visualise and jump. Obviously there is also the chance that since your coming from AFP your exits might not be as good as you think...
  22. I have done some sitflying and angles with aero, zero problems so far...
  23. From jumpers point of view, the 206 is much more roomy and the door is nicer. However for static lining students the 182 is much easier than 206. Depending on exit weight of jumpers it's 4-5 with 182 and 5-6 on a 206 persons per load.
