  1. didn't realize.. good find haha. Still hilarious.
  2. It was more expensive than Jersey Shore. I'm 30minutes west of you 08540. Here is what they sent me: Here is a suggested progression to complete the AFP program and earn an A license: Day One: Tandem 1 & 2 Day Two: Ground School, Tandem 3, AFP 1 Day Three: AFP 2-4 Day Four: AFP 5, 6 Day Five: AFP 7, High solo, Low solo Day Six: 2 Relaxed dives, 1 Coach jump Day Seven: 2 Coach jumps, 1 relaxed dive Day Eight: 2 Coach jumps, 2 relaxed dives Day Nine: 2 Relaxed Dives, A License checkout dive -- Here are the prices. (Looking back I may stick with Jerseyshore as these prices are significantly higher. I have to look into who has the better program because if the training is better I don't mind paying the premium. If anyone has a tips on these places it would be very much obliged to hear opinions. The following jumps include Gear Rental: First Jump: Regular Price (cash or credit) on-site $219 Seasonal Special (cash or credit) on-site $205 Web Special $195 Freefall School Advanced Training (Tandems #2 & 3, 7 AFPjumps, and Ground School): Credit Price on-site $1885 Web special $1685 High Solo: $71.00 Credit Low Solo: $63.00 Credit The following jumps DO NOT include Gear Rental: Coach Jumps purchased individually: 5 @ 86.00 (credit) $430.00 5 Coach Jump Package: $395.00 Relaxed Dives: $24.50 Credit Checkout Dive for License: $78.00 Credit Gear Rental $32.00 per jump $64.00 per day Additional fees for Certification: United States Parachute Association Membership (90 days)- $20.00 United States Parachute Association License (A)- $30.00 Parachute Packing Class- approximately $20 per hour
  3. Terruko, I responded to your last post. I too want to get my AFF and was looking at Jersey Shore or Cross Keys Freefall Adventure (since they have larger planes). I could give you a lift depending the days you want to go.
  4. I've jumped with Jerseyshore three times tandem (not for cert) and they were always super nice. I've been talking with Mike (I'm assuming the owner) about setting up certification lesson's. He has been really nice and informative. He told me to call back end of the month/Early April. I think the other posters are right, all they have is Cessna's. The jumps I did I jumped out of two separate planes and they each held only four jumpers. If you decide to go there I wouldn't mind starting this adventure with someone if you are up for it. I'm actually not to far from your location (zip 08540). I've found a closer DZ then the ranch in PA that are close too, but Skydive Jersey Shore has been the closest.
  5. I am the same way. There were a few times that I was close to clicking because some how that get my last name on the account, the the three/four digits was wrong. A general hover of the link also helps too, but best practice is go to type the site in yourself like you said.
  6. Watch the horizon on the way up; it should ease you. When you exit there isn't a drop in your stomach like a roller-coaster so there is no need to be worried about that. It is about a 60 second freefall and then a 10-15 minute glide/float back to the ground. That is the most peaceful part. When your instructor pulls down on the toggles the canopy will inflate and go completely quiet. It is amazingly peaceful. You will have a great time. No need to be nervous. Have fun! (*disclaimer: I'm pretty new to this so my terminology might not be prefect, but I've done a few tandems to know the experience.)
  7. I honestly feel your pain. I live in the NE and I've been waiting patiently to begin my jumps. This weekend it is supposed to be in the 60's. I contacted my local DZ to see if they will be opening up/holding AFF lessons this weekend. I really hope they get back to me and the answer is yes. Can't wait. Good luck!
