My parents said they were wondering when I was going jump and since I was okay, that was fine. But, they weren't too happy when I continued. My father asked me to stop but made the extended family watch all of my AFF videos. You'd be surprised at what you are able to sign away lose via a contract/release. Among other things, you can agree not to sue people for negligence and acts of third parties and you can agree pay their attorney's fees and costs; you can also agree to arbitration in lieu of the right to sue. When you talk about gross or intentional conduct, you're really saying that as a matter of public policy, the courts have refused to allow certain provisions to be enforced. Why? Airlines don't let people fly right seat for added safety in case on pilot becomes incompacitated and to reduce cockpit management. Commercial charters and scenic flights regularly allow passengers in the right seat. As for letting someone off the plane while the props are spinning, you may be right. I'm not sure that they would be silient. Actually, I think the rich pay the most and get the least back. They get no better services for their federal taxes than anyone else (local taxes aside) and they create jobs for others; so, they too can pay taxes. A long time ago a writer analogized the newly enacted tax system to feudal serfdom (where you pay 1/3 of whatever you grow/earn to the lord in exchange for protection).
