I was in your position and downsized PD 340, Nav 280 (control course), Nav 260, Nav 240 to a Spectre 210 and then a Sabre 2 210. Both 210s were mistakes, but the Spectre was more forgiving. I should have downsized slower, gotten more out of each, and went down to no smaller than a 230 until at least 200 jumps at that level. I love Costco and make a weekly trip. You can buy a whole chicken and use it over a couple of days -- no freezer burn! Or eat cheap at their counter -- dipped while you wait chocolate almond ice cream bars!! The quality is good and they take anything back without any questions. A friend on mine said their business plan is cost + 15%. Not sure if I believe it, but there are some good deals. Note: each store has somewhat different stuff. If you are looking for relatively clear salt water, come south to at least Jupiter (+/- 180 miles south of Daytona), north of that the gulfstream heads offshore and the vis can be touchy. The water's probably going to be in the 60's or low 70's. Operators vary as far as what goes, time limits, etc. In Jupiter (where I regularly dove), most diving is 60-90' on west-facing ledges. There are some wrecks, but mostly drifting down the reef with the current. Nitrox rocks there! I think McCain followed by John Edwards would have the best chance. But, McCain has screwed around with the right on some issues and may not easily get the nod from them.
