  1. Me? Ombrophobia and Nephophobia, but only on the weekends. Cacophobia, Cypridophobia, and Diplophobia, but only after the beer light comes on. Someone here has Coulrophobia....wonder who that is? It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1
  2. I realize this Chuck, but remember, I'm the guy trying to figure out how to get gas money there, or a ride both ways (I'm needed early, 31st). Considering I can't even afford standard registration (I'm going to be staff, registration and security), I wish I could afford a card. Though, if I could afford a card, I'd just pay my registration fee and not worry about working. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1
  3. Yes - bring your wireless cards with your laptops if you've got 'em. Costs: $10 day / $35 for the entire event Was never mentioned as free, with exception to DropZone.com night - Wednesday night, August 6th from 8-10 P.M. Alcohol will be allowed, but please do not spill anything on the computers or we take your gear. Got a spare card? Post Ho-ing from registration would be cool at night. (I'm assuming the wireless will reach registration?) It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1
  4. i can see it now....20 people in the 6 person hot tub Is that an 18 way with two videographers? I'm thinking more like a 2 way with 18 on video. Those damn freeflyers, ya know! It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1
  5. It's really great to hear about all this donating! I have not donated now in almost 2 years, but I have a very good reason. I am O negative. A few years ago, I decided I wanted to donate blood. I went in, got poked and prodded, in other words, typed. I already knew I was O neg, but they had to be certain, of course. A doctor came out, before I donated, and had a heart to heart with me. You see, we have a small community, with a very small blood center. In fact, much of what is donated is shipped away to larger cities. This doctor asked, hell, practically begged me NOT to donate my blood. OK, now you're thinking, this Doc's a quack. Well, sorry, you're wrong. He had a different proposal for me. He asked me to sign up on a list of type O neg donors, that would be available for an emergency transfusion. With his explaining, and almost pleading, it all made sense to me at the time. So, I have now, to this day, donated 2 times. Both times, though, I can say I saved a life. These people would not be here were it not for a quick transfusion. So, even though it's almost been 2 years, I'll wait, until that one person, in a life or death situation, needs help now. It's your life, live it! 9. Actually, I do cover reserve repacks due to packing error mals. I do not cover the cost of parts though. Toss your handles or forget to follow your freebag, that's outta your pocket. I'm a rigger in training, so I can't do the repacks, but I'm sure Sunshine would give me a decent deal. It's your life, live it! 10. Quit for the first time in the late fall of '96. Started again almost exactly a year later. Built up to close to 2 packs a day since then. Then I quit, for good, at 6:15 a.m. June 30th, 2003. It unreal how even the smell of fireworks smoke made me gag. I started smoking around when I was 16 or 17, in high school. That would be the 86/87 or 87/88 school years. I've gone cold turkey. It's quite easily the hardest thing I have ever done, but it's soooo worth it. The difference in the smell of the air alone at 10 grand makes it worth it! Katie, do yourself a favor. Stop right now. Waiting till you come home to leave the bad habits over there sounds easier than it is. Trust me. If you honesty can't just say no more to cigs now, what makes you think you can when you come back? 11. Thanks Rob. In fact, thanks everyone! This kind of thing really lifts the spirits, even as low as mine were. I'm trying to figure out if I can make it. Wnigi, 250+ tongue, 3 or 4 thousand gross. If I can make it, it will still be the 31st when I get there. Pop up in tow, parked close to the DZ.com tent (good stagger distance to the pass out zone). Yes, I will pack for jump tix, by the way. What do ya'll jump? I can packa Sabre to snivel so just let me know what ya want. It's your life, live it! 14. What Grant said. I'm doing it right now to an equally elderly home I just bought. I planned on being able to cary the laptop anywhere in the house and plug in for a fast hard wire, secure connection, and it's going ok, so far. I'm backing up with wireless though, also, for those trip to the shop, or the swing on the gazebo. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

    32 years old

I'm 32, have absurdly low blood pressure and pulse rates, and recently quit smoking. Take it easy for a bit, and see how your body reacts to minor stress level changes, before you attempt major ones (like leaping willingly from an airplane). Chances are you'll be fine, but really, keep a close eye on all the signs your body gives you, and I mean EVERY ONE. It could mean the difference between life/death or normal life/partial paralization. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1
  16. Hardwire it. Unless it's laptop only, that is. Take the 100 meg and run, you'll appreciate it. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1
  17. Norm Kent! He's doing exactly what I see myself doing in the sport in the future. Too bad I'm still new, since this would be the ideal way to attend the WFFC. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1
  18. !!!!!!! The camper means cheap eats. I can fill that sucker with water and ramen, plastic bowls, and a pan, and eat for the whole week for like 5 bucks. If I can make it, the camper comes with. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1
  19. i've been trying to figure out how to do the gas money down, first of all. After that, the registration is another hurdle. I do not take cash donations, ever, period, but I'm bringing my pop up camper and am willing to trade sleeping spots for jump tix. It sleeps 8, and now it looks like my wife will not be coming either (she told her boss today to put her back on the schedule again). So, if I make it down, there's still a few spots left in the camper. There's only 2 slots taken now, but unless you're female, I think each of those 2 slots take up 2. Oh, yea, no A/C either. Sorry. Got a gas stove though, and an ice box. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1
  20. I'm saving more than enough on the smokes. Quitting drinking, well, I'd lose money, since I'd still buy the beer and the bottles, but not drink them. Considering I may drink 1 or 2 times a year while not at a DZ, and many times on free dz beer, that's a mute point. Thanks all. The house was/is important, but that's only part of it. There's a full remodel to be done, by me, before we can move in. Built into the loan too, but I don't get a cent without a receipt or an estimate. So, I have a shit load of cash on tap (about $35,000) and no way to get to it "on-demand". Oh, and to me, missing the WFFC is the biggest deal. It's your life, live it! 21. Yea, life sometimes sucks the big one. Tuesday, 3pm CST my wife and I closed on our beer house. Today, after doing the math, I figured out I would have about $25 left over for Rantoul. That's for registration, jump tix, food, and fuel. Anyone else see a problem with this amount? I'm practically in tears while telling friends I probably cannot make it. This really sucks. Grumpy? Yea. Right now it's been over 2 weeks without a smoke. Cold turkey. From between 1.5 and 2 packs a day to nothing. Let's just say it's not helping matters, but I will NOT break down and have a smoke. I'm just praying I can scrape a couple of bucks together for a hop n pop this weekend. Thanks for the vent thread ability, HH. I owe ya one, again. It's your life, live it!
