  5. Us Cheeseheads gotta stick together! Waupaca Comets, Cross Country Regionals, 1997. I was in the lead, as usual, coming down our home stretch to finish our race. Closest behind me was a competitor, hmmm, happened to be a Berlin Indian. Final stretch was a hard left turn, down hill and across a bridge over the Waupaca river, up the steep bank on the other side and just over the top was the finish. I head down the last hill, and look over my shoulder to confirm that I still have a good 15 pace lead on the Indian. Head over the bridge, just sailing along. Well, on top of the hill on the other side were all the spectators from all the schools. They saw us coming and started screaming. I looked up while running up the hill (bad, very bad. Never look up while climbing a hill at a fast pace) smiled, waved, and promptly fell right over backward. Rolled down the hill and into the river, taking out the Indian in the Process. I ended up 6th, and the Indian got 9th. From a letter to a running joke just like that. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

  8. Pee Pee! Good to see you here! Mine is an interesting story. I was in a 4 way RW jump with Cacahuete (one bastard parent), Pistachio, and Hermando (named after I was) at Rantoul '02. We had launched a perfect 3 way from the Otter, as we had done all day. Well, that was when I was a super lightweight, and had some fallrate, um, issues. Well, we dropped grips to turn a point and ***poof*** I was gone (or so I was told). They looked up and saw me getting further and further away, yet arching so damn hard my feet we practically on my nose. Well, they turned it into a 3 way, and I got to watch them turn points as they got farther away. After landing and walking back to our area, the comment was made that I had popped out of the formation just like a cork. Yes, I said cork. Corcho is the Spanish translation of cork, and I earned it by corking out of an RW formation. Oh, I'm much better now, and I'm quite a bit heavier too. p.s. I was wearing about 12 pounds of lead on the "cork jump" too. Wierd huh? It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

    WTF is this?

Teeth... Teeth.... sniff... sniff... tears.... No lift lines for CASA rides. Farewell dear departed pearly whites. Geez Ivan. I'm getting all guilty feeling about spending my money on gear instead of teeth again. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

  14. Well, I'll answer the question in my own little way. You see, I have never really cared where I lived, and I still don't, geographically at least. Where I live is not important (except certain parts of Nevada and Utah-I NEED to be around a DZ). What is important is who I live around. Not with, just near. I need friends. Like minds. People whoare true individuals, not just "follow the crowd" lemmings. That said, I live near very few of these people right now. Sad, but I'm not moving. Instead, I'll travel to meet more and more of them. Driving for a living has it's advantages.... It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1
  15. Hell, no flames here! i think that's one of the best ideas I heard here in a long time. Those with a false sense of security due to the pussification of this sport (thanks Treetop, I love that word) need a wake up call. It's not safe. Never has been. Never will be. The "Femur club" is just another way to prove it. Thankfully, I'm not a member, and I hope to never be a member either. I do accept the fact that it could happen, all too easily, through no choice of my own. That's the part that reaches out and bites ya. The "I did everything right" injuries. Shit happens. It's skydiving, it ain't safe, and you gotta know that (or get out while ya can). It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

Of course, I give a lot greater shit for Lisa, Lisa, Amber, Jessicakes, Sunny, Mary, Beth, Angela, Keely, Alana, Jessica, Casie, Crystal, Lew, Denise, Michele, and many, many, MANY others...... 'cause.....well, they're my type.....female. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

  22. OK, I am like soooooo, NON-photogenic, but I've had comments before about this being a good picture of me. Rantoul, 2002. Hot? Well, I personally don't think so, but I don't think of myself as a dog either. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1
  23. Oh no they can't! You are wonderful just the way you are, so don't go trying to give any of it away!!!
  24. It's gonna be a month or two before I start driving again, Beth. When I do though, start looking for PINK car haulers again.
  25. Well, I better make this one a good one, huh? I guess that leaves me personally out, so I'll have to make it a very nice dinner, and maybe a movie..... Hell of a good guy there, BUT, that was supposed to stay under wraps. Remember, I'm the quiet, behind the scenes guy. I try and send a simple message. "Do what you can, when you can, to help out and give back in this sport." It doesn't need to be big, flashy, or expensive. Hell a pat on the back, a "nice job/jump/exit/landing/spot/ect." goes so much further than anything material ever could. I was helped out in a very big way, and I'm returning the favor. Oh, it is actually a main/reserve and container, but the rig is too small for him. I either need to have the harness made bigger or find a container in the correct size with a bigger harness. I want, and expect, nothing. Giving back is just that, giving. To expect something, anything in return just defeats the purpose. I'm happy just to spread the good vibes.
