My DZ uses a DVD recorder, philps i believe, with a audio/video mixer board. The recorder works like a TiVO, so we just record it to the Hard Drive on the recorder and then burn it to DVD. It tends to be faster than a PC because there is no Rendering time. "It's hard to fly with the eagles when you are surrounded by turkeys." My Website

I have two reserve rides on a tempo 150 with a WL of 1.43 to 1 and i was very happy. I AM STILL ALIVE!! Let's face it if you have to use your reserve, who cares if you stand up the landing or not. The flare wasn't that good but in my opinion you should PLF a reserve landing anyway. So i didn't even try to stand it up, i just PLF'd and i walked away with just a little dirt on my jumpsuit. Any reserve landing you can walk away from is a good reserve landing. "It's hard to fly with the eagles when you are surrounded by turkeys." My Website

The wildest thing i seen him do was leaving the plane without a rig and getting one pasted to him in freefall and then putting it on. "It's hard to fly with the eagles when you are surrounded by turkeys." My Website

ok i guess i should have said that i am not buying a new canopy. i am looking for a used one. i know there are other canopies out there that are better for camera flyers and there are canopies with better performance, but the newer designs can't be found used and if you do find one it is too expensive for me. I would love a XF2 but not many out there for sale and they want too much for them. so basically there are alot of Stiletto out there at good prices and i did find a good deal on a Vengeance. so unless i found something else pretty quick that is the two i have to chose from. and i have already explained that my jump numbers and years in the sport do not reflect my currency. I am always up for a suggestion but remember i have to be able to find a used one. "It's hard to fly with the eagles when you are surrounded by turkeys." My Website

no thanks, square canopies are not that fun. i have jumped a sabre1 150, sabre2 150, sabre 135, safire 135, sabre 120 and a heatwave 135. i loved my heatwave, a square canopy just isn't for me. my first few years in the sport i wasn't the active, no money, all my jumps have been over the last couple of years and i had one year in Iraq. Ok another post about my heatwave. i contacted aerodyne and they said it would be $240 to reline a heatwave 120 and take 4 to 5 weeks, because it has be discontinued, which make no sense to me. What i was wondering is, Is there somewhere or someone else i can send it to, like a master rigger or something. Thanks for the help. Ok, if you look at the forum about a week ago i posted a question about purchasing a large slider. well the reason is i am thinking about purchasing a heatwave 120 but the guy i am buying from says it opens really hard. That kindof puzzles me because i have never heard of one opening hard, at least not a 120, i know some of the 135 had trouble with the wrong slider, but not the 120. i had a 135 but a couple of weeks ago i lost it after a cutaway, but it never open really hard, sometimes a little stiff, but nothing i would consider hard. so i guess my question is, if anyone out there has experience with heatwaves opening really hard? and what could possible cause it to open hard, i am thinking pack job, but that is just a thought. thanks. Bat-Rak VS. New Optik Illusion???????
lowpullin1 replied to lowpullin1's topic in Photography and Video
just wondering everyone's thought, i am trying to decide between the two. The Bat-Rak seems like to would work better with my TRV 18. But i like the new optik just don't the the top mount is big enough for it to look right. if anyone has some pics of both with a trv that would be great, thanks. I have been playing around with front riser carves with pretty good results. i read somewhere that more speed could be generated be a carve rather than a hookturn. I was just wondering if anyone knows this to be true and if it is then why do so many people still do hookturns. I love doing carves, mainly because i am never committed, if i start it to low then all i have to so i let off and do a crosswind. Anyway, i was just wondering what everyone thought. i think quade is right, it is the wind and vibration. i camera flyer at my dz tried one and it would work up til he hit terminal and then cut off. "It's hard to fly with the eagles when you are surrounded by turkeys." My Website
