  1. What a dork! Have you seen it? His Dork? How big is it? He probably lied about that too? Or was he lying about lying? Do you think that he was lying about lying, so that he can appear sincere? Or is that a lie too,... OHHH I'm so confused????? "O'h I wish I was an Oscar Myeor Winer,..." Which means he's definatly going to get erected C Now look be serious about this, he looks as though he has his theeth in it.? Please someone tell me his middle name is Richard? etc,... But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."
  2. He's just supporting his kid, cut him some slack will ya? Ask him about "squrllzz." C But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."
  3. You wake up the next day,... She has the nices'd smile, ear to ear,... Her stump is going up and down,... I notice "green teeth" horrible breath,... "was it good for you"???? "Tooo," C But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."
  4. " ==================================== FYI "recorded history" is redundant. That said the current year is on track to have seven other hottest years ever ahead of it. And yes I will remind you of this "inconvenient truth" every month for the rest of the year. Koch Brothers Republican driven talking points,... and so many that don't fully understand the issues, however the Jenna Bush family keeps purchasing land in South America, the fed is changing building codes,...esp near costal areas,... India is trying to move millions,... Indonesia is spending billions to fight the rising tide,... etc., etc.,,, During WWII hundreds of thousands of individuals of Jewish desent were denied entry to the USA, because of individuals in our government were worrid that they were German solders,.. what has this to do with global warming you might say??? LOTS and lots of bullshit >>>> Then millions died,... It seems that the most powerfull pundits of global warming opposition have major interests in the energy biz! In other words when the cure is stuff like saving gas, or stoping Coal emmisions, basically anything that is good for the enviornment is bad for big buisness! They got more money than the researchers,... and guess what we have our own energy zar here on dropzone who knows better than the rest of the civilized world! This is a non-debatable issue It is unfortunate that you actually belive what is coming out of your mouth, ignorance and bigotry work the same way. Which means I'm wasting my time speaking with you,... Which is ok because sometimes I just like to babble on, and on, and on, and on,... But hey!!! When you have time to take David Koch's dick out of your mouth, give me a call???
  5. http://parachutistonline.com/safety_training/safety_check/know-your-gear Latest word, and who says they don't listen,... C But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."
  6. Ummm...relative to what ~ Blindfolded Bomb Disposal ? Before you go in for training ya might want to study up a bit on the risk factor. It's certainly safer than when I started, probably not as safe as it will be in ten years...but make no mistake, you are purposely putting yourself into an environment that does not suffer fools. Bring your A game, listen, learn, think. A Disneyland ride is 'really' safe, make the right mistake at the wrong time while skydiving and death or injury are very real consequences. Funny you mention the Disneyland World death rate. Splash Mountian 6 dead, mostly from standing up at the end. Thunder Mountian 2 D, 3 serious fiberglass engine on first car comes off in tunnel. Skyride worker gets pushed off platform due to other worker starting ride without notice. Disney is good for 20 or so fatals because of drowning each year. Some of these might be heart attacks. Car crashes on property, esp after drinking, another 20 or so. 1 chooking in a property food establishment. Drugs, 2 -4 each year cast as well as public. Space Mountian, 1 per every 3 years due to undiagnosed congenital defects, sudden death snydrom. One confirmed suicide in the contemporary hotel, newlywedd Goofy comes home to fine new wife in bed with best man,... ETC., You might be better skydiving on a Velo 100 than going to DW. C Dude, what you mean "suck" and "safety" in that last sentance??? Now you have put your foot into it, and I'm going to point out in not as nice as Krissanne points out that you have raised a real issue and shown your true colors, that was a really stupid thing to say, if in fact your a student, and we all are really, you might be forgivin, but I suspect otherwise your really "Gerado" come back to show us all how full of yourself you really are.... You want to learn to swoop, someday, fine, but till then keep your mouth shut, do what your told and learn, and real fast learn not to speak about safety and how you think the world works from your perspective. But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."
  7. I kind of like the ski patrol answere to this issue. You can't stop certian people from making bad decisions, an individual heads for a Black Dimond trail wanting to show off, and then we have to come and get them,... Getting an individual to stay within their experience level is a difficult thing to do. All you can do is harp like a peacock perhaps some might listen. But untill any individual is motivated by intrinsic V extrinsic thoughts there is little you can do. Some people like to show off, the fact that they die, well who gives a shit anyways, they are going to show off regardless of their skills, that's part of the extrinsic motivation for showing off in the first place, whether it be here in words or on some feild somewhere. The fact that this behavior affects the rest of us, well your just wasting your breath, they really don't give a shit about you or anyone else anyways! Darwin takes care of some of these people, a hand slipping of a toggle at 20 feet takes care of a few,... I guess it's the argument about what an incident does to the skydiving scene as a whole, in addition to making headlines, and the constant bad press, which does have consequences for your local DZ. The public opinion really does have a negative stigma that persists and just makes it all the more difficult each and every year. Brian Germain talks about this in some of his books. I think he points out the irresponsible ones and the consequences to the rest of us. Peer pressure and spotlighting the errant behaivior is a valid and great suggestion, but then we have so many that just look the other way! And do nothing. But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."
  8. Kinda, sorta. That makes you the anti-charititype. Did you catch the line about 30 or so attempts, all with the same address? I never knew there were so many animal charities that had the same address? Who the heck ever heard of the "Doris Day Foundation"? I did a Google search on this "publishing" company and found out in fact they do give to charity! About less than one tenth of one percent, the rest are costs for running the charity! Friends purchasing a flat screen tv on craigs list,...I warned them to call or at least get the number and speak to a real person on a phone,...they insisted everything by e-mail was fine,...they drove 30 miles to some house, rang the door bell, and were greeted by some irate dick telling them to call the police. Seems the particular address had recived about 10 visitors wanting to pick up whatever, all a big scam at the poor homeowners expense... C But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."
  9. My mom passed away a year ago, she was a sharp woman and took care of her affairs well...for the most part. However upon going through some things, I found that she was donating to several 'charities' on an annual basis. A couple looked rather shady and that was confirmed when their letters went unanswered so they stared to call the house non-stop for a few months. A couple didn't seemed to exist at all, after a hard search. They weren't pleased with my questions and ended up hanging up. Not a whole lot of money relatively speaking, but mom would have been both embarrassed & furious to know the truth. We donated to some animal charity: The next month,... Save the animals, doris Day Save the animals hollywood MSPCAA American mspca etc, Over 30 in all all with the same return address, I get quite the thrill of sending back the empty donation envelopes! Does that make me a bad person??? But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."
  10. I think we have a failure to communicate here. KrisAnn values encoragment and support as do we all, and the world is a better place because she takes the time to point this out!!!
  11. When I was in the area I found Jumptown to be a great place. As you know some find the vib at DeLand to be a little brusk, I love DeLand, the people, the food, the area, the weather,...and freely admit because of the buissness of the place it can be a little brusk,... Jumptown is DeLand without the bruskness' On the other hand Pepperell is great,.. as is SNE and CPI, as well as the ranch, as well as z hills,...! If you weere to ask specificics rather than stuff which is more akin to personalities and personal prefrences you might get more specific responses.
  12. You did good, but Some of those Nigerians have a preverse sense of humor, how much information did you give them, because then they actually like to send even dumber people to your home for the free puppies,... C But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."
  13. That's a bail type douple snap, non-swivil shackle. It is not a common sailing piece of hardware, considering it looks brass, it may be a rare item! C I 'm thinking special order for the Navy, scuba diving, fishing, somethin marine, like the snaps they use for hauling colors, etc, but that's just guessing,... But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."
  14. You make a great observation here, however, on more than one occasion I have seen frostbite spots from the holes in the stiching and frostbite spots from individuals using some sort of golf gloves. So as you point out windproof is the key, but yes an average freefall is short enough to do damage. C But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."
  15. "Like that time you said SNE didn't host a Safety Day?" If you don't post your information where people can see it ? How are they supposed to know?
  16. A brief paper I did awhile back, might help some understand some of the factors in a rumor,... See Attached: I've added sources in the paper,... But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."
  17. This sucks,... It's always building codes, shortcuts and skimping, it was this way when 10,000 track homes during Andrew were ripped off, many of the roofs had one / two "staples" in them,... Money, and ya I don't know all the facts yet, Don't need too,..always the same,... sucks And another god dammn thing ,...Homeland security has sucked money from Civil Defense, sucked it dry in my opinion, this will come up again, and they will try to bury this little tidbit as well,... But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."
  18. I'm not really understanding how you supposedly have access to the numbers yet still make this blatantly false statement. Both Orange and SNE also run multiple loads each and every day, weather permitting, and have since their Otters returned from their winter homes. I'm sure as hell not flapping my arms to get up to altitude. You're not doing anybody any favors spreading misinformation. All three places are wonderful DZs that can stand very well on their on merits. Let's just leave it at that, unless it's something that can actually be substantiated. Your the one that has used the word: "Substantiated." Here is Jumptown's posted hours: "Thursday 10 AM - Sunset Friday 10 AM - Sunset Saturday, Sunday and Holidays - 8 AM - Sunset Memorial Day and 4th of July 8 AM on" This was from their web site. Skydive NewEngland Dosen't post hours, nor do they willingly give out information over the phone. At best they will ask that you call near or on the day you wish to find out if they are running! So,... I'm having a hard time understanding your comments about the hours of operation, especially midweek when you indicate someplace is open,...WHEN THEY ARE NOT??? You are correct when you point out all three are wonderfull places, but I made my point that I wanted to stay away from this type of discussion and concentrate sole'ly on the number of loads! You have indicated DZs' that are open seven days a week when they are not,... Whoa'''' be the dumb shit that shows up at Jumptown next tuesday, only to find a nice Otter just sitting there! Same at SNE,... I guess the only sensible thing to do is call ahead, wheather the wether co-operates is another discussion? But were on a wind hold at the moment and we have a free phone, some of us just called all three places up ther in New England and what I pointed out in my first response still holds true! We will be on the phone again next tuesday, and midweek,...and I suspect once again only Pepperell will have an aircraft in the air. You want to / for some reason get into a pissing contest over this issue, I understand why,...it means money and drawing individuals to your particular DZ. I can understand that. But when your first jump was in 1973, as mine was, and your first jumpmaster was Ted Strong, John Carlson, Butch Rubb, Ed White, etc, etc,...you learn a few things. Dan Poynter taught me to pack at a little place in Quincy MA,... So I get on the phone when I'm in New England and I call individuals that have been in this buisness for thirty plus years and when they tell me nothing is happining at SNE or Jumptown on a tuesday, "You had better try Pepperell," I listen. How you can say what you have said and not expect individuals to call you on this I am at a loss for words,...ALL anyone has to do is pick up the phone and suddenly you look like some sort of ass??? The bottom line is if you want to jump, weather permitting, midweek which is all I'm sayin, New England sucks!!! Again the bottom line, for anyone who cares, just pick up the phone on a Tuesday, Wendsday, and see who is home and who is not! And be a little hard arsed: pin the trained phone opeerator down and ask how many loads, how many people are scheduled for that day,... Find out for yourself! C But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."
  19. We have a server and it's backed up on Carbonite also. Think that's enough? >> RUN. If it says "Registry Cleaner" >>> RUN. If it says >>>>"clean my pc >>>> RUN. All of these types of programs leave stuff behind and on a pc with sometimes over 500000. files it's difficult to find all of the malware crap left behind. The only time I personally don't reformat is in the case someone tells me that they have information that they have not backed up and they need to get it if possible. Frequently with a system that won't "BOOT" under these circumstances I remove the hard drive and read it on another machine as the first step! This is actually very simple to do... After reading the files I want to save , after putting the infected hard drive back then sometimes I try to figure out the malware and sometimes remove programs , changes etc., but the issue is the amount of time spent trying to restore a pc manually as compared with the factory reinstall procedure! Many malware changes are now going after the "HIDDEN" factory partition, they do this because most factory purchased pcs' no longer come with "RESTORE" disks. This is a cheep trick by most all of the manufacturers to the customer because the disks cost about 40 bucks and sometimes more to get,... I mention all of this because most of the free games and software sites infecting millions of pcs' do more than just have an additional directory that "appears" to be easily deletable. Trust me there are hundreds of subtle changes all over your operating system files designed to track your usage habits, they have advanced far beyond "cookies." Now granted if he went to a site that just wants to play / purchase a game,...it may not be such a big deal, all the game manufacturer wants is some information and to make it a little difficult to remove their game! They want to sell their stuff not get a rep as a host designed to infect your pc. Even so the changes to the vidieo settings, etc can and frequently reek havok. But if someone did a search for free programs, I guantee you ended up offshore and your pc is loaded with crap. What if your server goes down? What if carbonite has a hair across it's ass that day? It is far better to save your data, word files, or excel, etc., JUST THE DATA FILES, to a portable hard drive that you control. That way your portable drive with everything on it can be left behind at a friends house, or someone else can neglect to return it, or you can just plain old forget where yo put the thing. I run ito this same type of argument when people start dicussing "RAID" arrays, >>>>> And my answer is "Have you ever tried to rebuild a RAID ARRAY?" They frequently don't rebuild! if you have any type of time invested on a computer back up everyting of importance on a portable hard drive or write your information to a dvd, and then check the dvd to make sure it was transfered correctly. I used to hear the following comment daily: "I knew I should have backed up my stuff,...[] but it's such a pain,..." C Good luck with the little Demonioid, watch out if it comes back,.... But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."
