  1. Hope you got out to make a jump. I did, or more accurately, a WS flight Cheers Craig
  2. Or at least the angels can fly wherever / whatever i do. I had the most fabulous timing to connect with the squirrel principals @ skydive oceanside / tsunami / go jump oceanside this weekend it was a MIND-BLOWING experience to see matt and friends flying concentric vertical circles around me, (on their back) as they filmed to gain data on how to improve my feeble skillz. many thanks to mike, matt, scotty-bob and will for the generosity to jump with me. my main takeaway? stop flying alone. i'm just strengthening BAD habits = inefficient flying craig
  3. post up a photo or description of what you used to place over the spectra pigtail please. Craig
  4. sorry, no feedback yet since i only just started flying squirrely but i am amazed that you only got one rational reply amongst the other bullshit. If I were you, I'd contact either squirrel directly,or speak with a trusted local gear guru. Craig
  5. Thanks to those that PM'd photo's. Squirrel silver is what most of us would probably consider light grey. Cheers Craig
  6. Thanks for this linky. I am specifically looking to see what Squirrel's silver looks like. Possibly as a less likely to stain option to white. Cheers Craig
  7. looking to have a bright suit built for visibility, but unsure how silver works / looks in real life. thanks Craig
  8. Sounds interesting I'm hoping to come out an play. Craig
  9. skydive san diego has an active community talk to the lead rigger there. he has a high bar to let people into the club bravo for that kleggo
  10. Problem solved. Thanks Dan Thames from Arkansas. my goal is to allow spoken glide angle cues during flight. I've reviewed the flysight wiki and downloaded beta V 646-20141216 installed Flip 3.4.7 on my host PC got the flysight into the mode where it is an unrecognized device get stuck at the point where i update the driver device manager does not find the driver, see screenshot. please either reply here, PM me, or we could connect @ skydive oceanside if you are willing to assist. You can probably guess, I only know enough about PCs to get me into trouble. Thanks Craig F
  11. probably old news to computer geeks / gurus, but i found this when poking around in the control panel of windoze 7
  12. LOL Reference Brian Germain's Safety 1st on Sky Dive Radio #199. I miss ya man, we had good times. Craig F.
  13. ***Lots of reflexes - they used to call them c-flexes - with flaps on the top and bottom covering the pop top which prevents line snag. quote] Really? Show us a photo of one of those Cflex thingies....
  14. amazon advert says 1 new from $460!!!!! Terry P would be stoked!!!!!! Terry Parsons is / was an interesting guy. He was the formative member of Wrapture, our speed 8 team in the early 80s. We thought we were hot shit when we were finally able to reliably make sub 50 sec octaplanes (only vertical formations back then) on our Pegasi. Everyone jumped a Pegasus 220. Body weights ranged from 250+ to my 140. Terry taught Philosophy @ UC Irvine when he wasn't skydiving and was more thoughtful than most. We kept trying to build a 6 way side-by-side (circle) but the forces involved in anything bigger than four canopies proved to be unmanageable even when using death-straps. beers to ya Terry. Craig
  15. Great scribes girl. Was surprised to hear it was another Texas jumper other than you @ 500ft. AND Congrats on the 24 and 26 way night diamonds. Huge "balls" involved in going down that path again. I remember when we did the 25 way in Perris a long time ago how relieved we all were that it was complete, it was over and everyone was unbroken. Being the first jumper out of the trail plane and having my friends following me hoping we were going in the right direction was eerie. cheers Craig F
  16. i suspect most of us would prefer that you investigate the points already raised rather than "a small scren built in to relay weather conditions" eyes, knowledge typically obviate the need for what you suggest.
  17. Completed survey and sent you an email. cheers craig
